Daedalus19876 I think it just doesn't seem flashy enough, it's good value for sure though. I always end up cutting it for one reason or another but I think Boros is probably the best guild for it's inclusion since trample isn't as prevalent as haste, vigilance, protection etc.

you could try Armory Automaton, it sounds real scary imo

feyn_do_alduin: I've considered including him before, TBH. Long story short, I would be more amenable to include him if I played against opposing voltron decks more often: in here, he strips my equipment off of my commander or evasive beaters, and attaches it to what's otherwise a vanilla 2/2.
Doesn't seem like a good trade to me, though of course he could allow some cool curving in the early game if I controlled no other creatures...

I would use him in a situation where I can't use m commander. My play groups like to take my toys away lol

feyn_do_alduin: This deck spends a lot of time swinging with non-commander creatures actually, haha (because I too have my commander taken away alas). But I prefer to swing with creatures with inherent evasion (like Serra Ascendant and Aurelia, the Warleader) rather than a 2/2 on the ground.

Not many ideas for suggestions (I can only think of Chrome Mox, Mox Opal and Plateau haha), but have you ever considered being r00d and using Grafted Exoskeleton? It's definitely a mean card and paints a target, but just a thought.
Otherwise this list looks really solid and earns a +1 from me!

Triton: Thanks for the comment (and the +1)! :)
In answer to your suggestions...
I'm actually involved in a trade to acquire a Masterpiece Mox Opal at the moment. Do you think it would fit in here? I'm not sure if my artifact count is high enough. Thoughts? :)
I do need to get a Plateau. But it's such bad art, and so expensive...
I've never been a fan of Chrome Mox outside of really dedicated combo decks, to be honest. Card advantage is so difficult in Boros colors already, and I'd have to exile a colored card to actually get any benefit...
I've run Grafted Exoskeleton before and had mixed experiences. On the positive side, if it's equipped to my commander, I can straight-up 1-shot people by flipping her then swinging for lethal infect. But the risk is too high: if someone removes the Exoskeleton I have to immediately sacrifice Avacyn :( Same reason I'm not running Grafted Wargear anymore - just makes it too easy for my opponents to blow me out.

Have you considered squeezing in the artifact lands? I think they'll help with the consistency, but they are vulnerable to Bane of Progress and friends.. You do run quite a bit of artifacts (I'm basing it off of some of the artifact commander list in the cEDH discussion), so I thin k it's worth trying out with Mox Opal in the deck, then with the artifact lands added in and see how consistent it is.
Agreed for Chrome Mox, and Plateau does have some meh art (alters exist but it does cost a kidney haha).

Triton: Yeah, I've been considering the artifact lands for a while, might have to go in. Just makes me more vulnerable to Vandalblast (very common in my meta).
March 20, 2017 7:28 p.m.
I think that trying at least Ancient Den and maybe Darksteel Citadel (since you're 2 colors it's manageable imo). I don't know how I feel about Great Furnace since you are running not many Mountains, although both mountains and the artifact land are red sources.
How often would you say Vandalblast is out of a certain amount of games? It can just be an estimate. Also after an artifact wipe, would you consider Faith's Reward and/or similar? Also Open the Vaults is less situational.

Daedalus19876 says... #12
Triton: Vandalblast shows up in 2/5 games, probably. Of course, I often kill the red player for exactly that reason, heh.
I've never liked Faith's Reward because I don't like holding up mana in an aggressive deck whenever possible. I might try Open the Vaults if it becomes a huge problem, but I play against several Daretti decks...

Would you consider adding in Sword of Light and Shadow for a more defensive Sword? And perhaps Burnished Hart for more ramp and another sacrificing creature?

Daedalus19876 says... #14
Zillabrony13: I've been wavering on Sword of Light and Shadow for a while. My main problem with it is that it protects the equipped creature from my own Benevolent Bodyguard, Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder, Mother of Runes, Stonehewer Giant, Duelist's Heritage, Sigarda's Aid, Gift of Immortality, Elspeth, Knight-Errant, and Boros Charm. On the other hand, I sometimes have problems with white decks because none of my Swords protect against it...
I'll pass on Burnished Hart, though: far far far too much mana investment for two tapped lands :(

Lilbrudder: So - what's your opinion on Fellwar Stone vs Inspiring Statuary? I feel like they're comparable (maintain my artifact count, both ramp) but I can't decide which deserves the slot. Inspiring Statuary can give me LOTS of ramp as the game goes on (often upwards of 5 "mana") and can be paired with Avacyn to tap Static Orb at the end of my opponent's turn, but can only be used for colorless "costs" AND can't be used for artifacts. Meanwhile, Fellwar Stone might not give me the colors I need, but it has a lower CMC and gives me the mana immediately and unconditionally...

I'm surprised you're not running High Market so you can flip Avacyn on command. Also, Slayers' Stronghold is really good if Yu just want to get Avacyn down and turn her or another creature sideways immediately.I've always been a big fan of Fireshrieker personally.
The list looks good though.

Glad to be no. 300. Foil Avacyn is such a beautiful card. I have a hard time deciding whether to drop Avacyn into the 99, or make her helm my Boros deck. Having her ability easily telegraphed seems like it could spoil the fun, currently running Anya (flavour reasons) burning the world down is alot of fun.

enpc: I'm glad you like the list! I've chosen not to run High Market because I generally don't have too much trouble flipping Avacyn on command, but it was in the initial draft of the deck before I tuned it. Basically the same story with Slayers' Stronghold - I used to run it, but eventually it became too much of a mana investment for a relatively small effect. Also, I just never had the right amount of mana to cast Avacyn AND give her haste (plus, she has "haste" if I cast her at my opponent's EOT). I really should find a slot for Fireshrieker though ;) Thanks for the comment!
SlaveToPhage: Thank you for the comment and the upvote! :) We've finally made it to 300, haha! Anya, Merciless Angel is pretty sweet, but when I tried running her I was hampered by the fact that you have to leave a player alive at half health to keep Anya indestructible. Personally, I think you should make her your commander, but of course I'm biased ;) Either way, link me to your list if you want me to look it over! Have fun with the deck - how's it playing?

I personally prefer fellwar stone in most circumstances but given how unpopular boros is in EDH inspiring statue may be better. The upside is real and given that you arent necessarily getting color fixing with stone I may go with the flashier card first and if it proves to be too slow then go with stone.

I didn't read through all the comments (since there's 16 pages lol) but why no Tenza, Godo's Maul?

WillySmasher: There really are a lot of comments, heh.
Tenza, Godo's Maul used to be included, but it got cut because it was too situational. When Archangel Avacyn Flip hasn't flipped, it's just a +3 boost for 3-cast-1-equip (somewhat underwhelming). Furthermore, I try to keep Avacyn unflipped most of the time because the vigilance is so handy.
And if I equip it to one of my other non-legendary beaters, it gets even worse. Eventually it just got replaced by better things shrug

This deck's been running a bit too low on mana recently, and Inspiring Statuary has been a dead card despite its great potential. Accordingly, I added a card from the maybeboard in its place: I'd like to see how Kor Haven will perform!

Daedalus19876 Hello again! Great deck. Have you considered Aggravated Assault it combos with Sword of Feast and Famine for infinite combat phases. I run it in my Narset deck and it's a killer! +1 from me.

Jamiemac: Thanks! :)
I did run Aggravated Assault at one point, and it's a powerful card. I ended up choosing Waves of Aggression instead because it is still useful after being discarded to Wheel of Fortune or my opponent's Leovold, Emissary of Trest, but I do love that combo :)
April 12, 2017 2:53 p.m.
Daedalus19876 Yeah man fair enough, I run them all in Narset haha. Which reminds me, I still haven't put her list on here yet!

KeelHaul10: Honestly? I've just found that it's somewhat irrelevant. My deck's built to work around the sweeper (lots of protection and expendable creatures) so it never harms me too much TBH.
Also, I'd prefer Rune-Tail's Essence :)
...seriously, though, why do people keep telling me to remove O-Naginata? It's simply one of the best cards in this deck, and allows many of the most explosive wins (simply because of its absurdly low mana:effect ratio). I'd cut Umezawa's Jitte or Sunforger before I'd cut O-Naginata haha.
