When JOU came out, I got really excited about all of the Constellation cards. I had wanted to build an enchantment matters deck from the start of Theros, but there really wasn't any reason to since the only cool enchantments didn't build off of each other, so you only needed to run enchantments if they were good, not because they built off of each other. Constellation really excited me because it finally gave me a reason to cram tons of enchantments into a deck, so naturally I went to check out all of the constellation pictures as soon I got the chance. One of the cards that really disappointed me was
Skybind
. It excluded enchantments from its flickering ability, making it meh at best; when I pulled it in packs I didn't pay much mind to it.
A month ago, however, I was wanting to go to FNM but didn't have a standard deck to run. I still had some leftover constellation stuff from an old dredge constellation deck I had (stuff like Eidolon of Blossoms and Courser of Kruphix), so I decided to go with that. I was also wanting to use my leftover playset of Hornet Queen from my previous deck I ran, simic ramp and monsters (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/thank-you-based-kruphix-gu-draw-ramp/). I noticed how many good enchantments there where in white, when suddenly I happened to come across my two copies of
Skybind
. I decided to give it a shot, and my makeshift Selesyna Skybind Shenanigans deck carried me through 2 wins and 2 losses, with one of those wins being a triumphant victory against a brutal Abzan Superfriends list.
Recently, after browsing through the available options in standard, I remembered that Purphoros, God of the Forge is a thing, and realized how disgusting it would be in my old Skybind deck since it flickered Hornet Queen as a strat anyways. So, I added some red to the list and threw in some other shenanigans on color, adjusted the mana base, and voila. Enjoy :D
