This deck actually looks really good, except for some small things. I have a hard time picturing it beating Abzan, which is basically the same deck except with Siege Rhino. I feel like this is basically a worse Abzan deck. It still wrecked my own deck during playtesting though!

Lol I have rhino but I don't wanna play junk. So I wanted to make jund work cause dragons are fun lol. Overall I don't think Path to Exile Lingering Souls or even rhino will be too much for a jund

Your deck is probably complete then. The only way I see to improve it is through Fulminator Mage which is way too expensive.

pumpkinwavy yea mage is good an all but I don't know how he went from 15 to 30 in like 3 months. I never expected hm to skyrocket like that lol. Anyways I'm curious if you think I'd be better off taking out the dragons to the sideboard for 2 garruk? And then if match calls for thunder or Stormbreath or them in and swap either walker that wasn't being effective?

The pro-white on Stormbreath is really strong atm, barely any removal capable of killing it except people playing stuff like Flame Slash, and it's a sorcery.

Misanthropia while Stormbreath Dragon does have pro white to stop it from being removed in that color scheme do not forget black and blue still have plenty of awnsers for it. I definitly like my dragons lol. But do you think I be better off moving them completely to the sideboard for 2 Garruk Wildspeaker?
February 25, 2015 6:17 a.m.
Cut hellkite - with no protection or evasion from removal it's far too risky.
Cut Jund charm - almost purely useful as a board wipe. There are better options.
Add more scavenging ooze. It's an extra win on and your only early game presence.
Add one more stormbreath. Pro white and flying is a big deal.
Add Anger of the Gods or Damnation to the sideboard or a single copy main board.
Cut Go for the Throat for Dismember. Go for throat doesn't hit affinity which is already a hard matchup. Dismember dies. Dismember also kills abzan.

ChiefBell thanks for taking a look! Made some minor changes mainboard though I'm curious why you say no Jund Charm when it can deal with 1.splinter twin 2living end 3 tarmogoyf and other graveyard based strategys and if need be can buff my guy which is the least relevant part. Also what would you replace Thundermaw Hellkite with? I have 2 Garruk Wildspeaker I could try to squeeze in but I was curious what you rather have done first. Also I agree on the ooze thing just gotta get myself 2 more

I loves some Jund. I agree with the assessment of Graveyard hate. And, Jund Charm can also board wipe tokens, which is worth a lot I think. I like your take on the Goyf. I have a similar attitude about Goyfs, which are overrated. They're good, but if you think I need them, then go play with yourself in the corner with your empty wallet. I have better things to do with my time and life than track down goyfs. +1!
February 26, 2015 4:48 p.m.
Jund charm doesn't stop tarmogoyf. He counts both graveyards. Jund charm doesn't stop twin asDeceiver Exarch is a thing. Jund charm won't stop tokens as they run 6 copies of Honor of the Pure. On the other hand Anger of the Gods or Damnation actually do help a lot more against those decks.

ChiefBell what should i do to the ones in the sideboard? I am trying to not have dead cards in my main or sideboard as frequently as possible.
February 26, 2015 5:01 p.m.
My Jund deck runs some slightly different stuff, but then again, I try for some basic mana ramp in it. I HIGHLY recommend a playset of Zhur-Taa Druid, since he's great for both mana ramp and burn. Needless to say, my friends all hate me for how I make sure he's in any deck of mine with both red and green. I also would rather have Garruk, Primal Hunter than your garruk, if you need him for the tokens, or Xenagos, the Reveler for mana. (Heck, Xenagos is just all around better than either of them. His ultimate isn't as good for your deck, although your Garruk's one isn't that special either, but you get both tokens without rolling him down and MUCH more mana than with Garruk)
If you can manage to swing the mana, I HIGHLY recommend the combo of Utvara Hellkite and Scourge of Valkas for some seriously spoopy dragonage. To put it nicely, their crap gets seriously messed up when you chain those. Just from the base two dragons, when they both swing, you get two 6/6 dragon tokens entering the battlefield and doing 4 damage to target creature or player each, before they can block or anything. If they manage to survive that first turn, (via for or something) you can swing four dragons, and get four dragons that deal EIGHT DAMAGE EACH. In single player, it's overkill by that point, but in casual multiplayer, that's just devastating to everybody--swinging four 6/6's at one opponent, 16 to a second's face, and another 16 to another player's face. Obviously, if you have Stormbreath Dragon on the battlefield when you start the train of those two, bad things happen EVEN FASTER. The best part, they're both just $2-$2.50 each for a non-foil. (Foil's $10, which is a tad outrageous)
In my deck, I like to use Liliana Vess's -2 followed up with Domri Rade's +1 to search for a creature and snag it, so I'm able to find the missing link to the combo if I need to. However, I don't think you have enough creatures to make Domri worth it, so maybe Diabolic Tutor or something of the like. (I don't think Demonic Tutor is in modern, but I could be wrong)

CPD as much as the cards you suggested are nice they mostly don't fit what my deck needs Domri Rade and xenegos both do nothing for me. Domri will never effectively trigger and is a lost slot. Xenegos while providing mana isn't mana I can hold onto like garruk. The Garruk I use lets me tap out turn 4 and still have mana open for a Terminate or Abrupt Decay or even Dismember which is VERY critical. Primal hunter isn't bad just not sure if he's the one I want though. He's 3 green and a turn 5. The dragons you suggested are simply far to late game and I already have storm in the deck because he is a game ender and has protection from a color unlike the others. Lili is not relevant for my strategy and both tutors you suggest are not used in modern where a card every turn should be dangerous Demonic Tutor is because it's not legal and the 4 drop version well is because it's 4 mana.

CPD my jund isn't an aggro like most versions hence why theirs so few creatures. It's more control. As you see I run roughly 16 removal spells to keep my board safe and to take care of their field doesn't require me to have too have many bombs.Huntmaster of the Fells Flip Stormbreath Dragon, Tasigur, the Golden Fangand Scavenging Ooze all are already good creatures that can change the game as they are. Though I am glad to hear you play jund!! Id test my version out agaisnt a few of your friends decks so you can see if this one will cause them trouble. I hope you like the deck though! Jund for life
March 2, 2015 10:20 p.m.
@Jamesfurrow: I am liking that Tasigur, the Golden Fang more and more in this deck. It is such an effective card and combined with how deadly many of your spells are plus Scavenging Ooze to slowly get what you want, this deck is really turning into a power house. Have you considered Thrun, the Last Troll?
March 2, 2015 10:47 p.m.
Jamesfurrow says... #18
JakeKita I have Acually been considering thrun just I don't know if I should because I have few match ups where he be strong to play in my local store. He may be worth it thought as a one of in my sideboard if huntmaster or something of that sort proves to be not the best top deck agaisnt a particular deck.
Anyways how's your Naya comming togeather?? The testing Been successful? Or you struggling a lot agaisnt the higher teir decks?
March 3, 2015 6:06 a.m.
Kind of pointless for wooded foothills if you only have 3 lands it can fetch
March 4, 2015 10:39 p.m.
I've been fairing pretty well with it. Doing some more edits and playing around with other deck archetypes.

FTWhiskey um Wooded Foothills gets Stomping grounds Blood Crypt Overgrown Tomb Mountain and Forest.... So where is that only 3 of my lands? If you ment Marsh Flats yes that's more accurate and is only there to make sure I get my black sources of mana while I don't have catacombs
To JakeKita I'm glad to hear it's going well and I hope Naya works out for you in ur local area

flipdipple lol it's alright man it happens. And I had originally both jund and rakdos charms in the sb. And even a few jund mainboard. But otherwise how do you like the deck? Do you see any real threats im missing when you consider my disclaimer of not getting bob or goyf?
March 7, 2015 11:06 a.m.
flipdipple says... #25
I like most of what you are doing, I would drop the Huntmasters for upping your Scooze count to 4. It should net you more life and be more aggressive. With the current meta I don't see Huntmaster ever flipping, which is it's true power, being able to chain flips and get great value. I am running a Naya build currently and refuse to invest in goyf and bob is what keeps me of jund and junk.

pumpkinwavy lol its alright. I just cant find myself spending $80 a card. Its just too much in my opinion. Overall though how does the deck look? Im trying to make it competitive but not something that will ruin my wallet lol
