ChiefBell yea him being 5 cmc is little late for when I would want life gain. What if I placed in the balaoth? over the Creeping Corrosion? It's a 4cmc 4/4 gaining 4. It gives me a body and life. Also anti discard

That's ok but it still won't deal with affinity because you need to kill their Mox Opals etc.

That is true ChiefBell but I already have 7 cards I can bring in to effectively deal with affinity. Now none of it is a wrath effect but that's already 1/2 of my sideboard able to come in vs an affinity deck. If I included the fallouts I then have 9/15 of my sideboard able to face affinity which is roughly 66% of my sideboard for just affinity. Burn I've only dedicated Feed the Clan and that's probally my weakest match up besides tron

Obstinate Baloth is also very good. Thragtusk are good but I see your point. Baloth is pretty much the same as Tusk and is also very strong in 4cmc and strong body. Sounds cool!

I'm running a semi-competitive semi-budget Jund. I stuck in Pack Rats. Their surprisingly good. Great with Garruk, too. I don't have as many bomb drops. Looking for some more. Great deck!

BigFace thanks man! Glad to hear that! Also feel free to +1. Yea this deck has been doing me very well in my area. Went 3-1 at my lgs and at pax east so yea I'm happy with it

Also BigFace if you ever need me to look it over feel free to send a link of the deck and I'll comment on it asap. I definitly would like to help out another jund player. Just tell me the restrictions your working with and I'll try to keep my suggestions withing that criteria.
March 15, 2015 11:13 p.m.
Jamesfurrow I appreciate the offer. I've been looking for that person to help with semi-budget Jund concept. I'll tag you later.

I would love for you to help my deck out if you have any ideas (keep in mind its abzan, but it's very similar in concept)

I just played a legacy event over the weekend, and I got a lot done with Surgical Extraction. It's rude, but great sb tech against heavily used threats and fetches or non-basic lands.

Jamesfurrow says... #13
malfeischylde now I like Surgical Extraction but where in my sideboard would that go? It's a good card don't get me wrong but it requires me to have already removed a problem prior for it to be effective unless it's used for fetches or shocks in the graveyard. Which only in someways helps to allow the opponent find awnsers than top deck unwanted lands later on. I'm just curious what you would take out for its spot

malfeischylde says... #14
Oh, no. Lol. I don't use it on removed threats. I'm too mean for that. "Wait, you countered my spell?" "We'll have no more of that..." Or, there are non basics and fetches....

If you can't get liliana of the veil, the new Liliana looks sweet.

I would remove the Rakdos Charms from the sb, and would probably replace the Destructive Revelry with a second Ancient Grudge, as it recurs. I played so many control-ish matches, or splash blue matches that I found it very useful.

Jamesfurrow says... #18
Rakdos Charm has proven to be very useful for me. exiles whole yard, shits down twin, and affinity. And destructive I find is more useful because grudge doesn't really come in often unless I'm agaisnt affinity. I like diversity over specifics lol

Jamesfurrow I posted my Jund deck. Jund's Fun Son
I've been tweaking it more than any other deck I got. Or it feels like it. My biggest question is on Night's Whisper (which I think people forget sometimes) and 4CC debacle.
March 16, 2015 11:56 p.m.
I've also noticed your playing just 5x 1CC hand hate. Most the tourney decks I've seen play 7-8. Why's that?
March 16, 2015 11:59 p.m.
Jamesfurrow says... #21
BigFace I only play 5 because their not a good top deck later in the game and I rather have my awnsers in the form of removal or more creatures game 1 and then side in more hand disruption if their deck calls for it. Also with Tasigur, the Golden Fang I want to minimize the amount of times they give back hand disruption to me and receive a card I can't use because their in top deck mode

I like the play of a couple of delve cards to avoid that. I know some rub Tombstalker or Murderous Cut to help manage the yard. That said, it may throw off some of your synergy.
March 17, 2015 9:13 a.m.
Jamesfurrow says... #23
Yea those cards hurt malfeischylde the synergy when I have ooze and tasigur already controlling it and they simply will raise my curve unneededly

malfeischylde says... #24
Indeed. I made a Modern jundie midrange deck. You inspired me. Jund is my first love, anyway. I'm going to give tombstalker a try. Not cut, though. Terminate is just so much better than cut, under most circumstances.

Jamesfurrow says... #25
malfeischylde lol I'm honored to hear I have inspired your deck! I hope it works out for you! I'll definitly take a look at it if you want
ChiefBell says... #1
You don't want thragtusk. All the decks that you want lifegain against can win by turn 3 or turn 4. Your lifegain cards should cost between 2 and 4cmc.
You want a copy or two of Pithing Needle because its Jund's version of Stony Silence. Having said that Anger of the Gods may be better against aggro and affinity BUT it won't deal with Arcbound Ravager. Maybe -1 Pithing Needle, +1 Creeping Corrosion?
