Sideboard

Jund, it's not a monsters deck, but more of a resource control deck. You stop them from winning until you slam either a dragon, ruric thar or sire down.

Vraska the Unseen is a win con, and also a kill spell every 3 turns if you need it. In the mid game she helps you control the board.

Sire Of Insanity Let's explain why this is mainboard. If you're using your hand to kill their stuff, and then you just have this guy left... He stops a lot of decks from being able to remove him. Aggro decks lose combat tricks. Celestial flare, brave the elements etc are gone. If you're playing against someone on the pack rat plan it kills their hand of things to get rid of. PAST ALL OF THAT, my local meta is VERY control heavy. They don't expect to lose their hand game 1.

Ruric Thar, the Unbowed THIS GUY IS AN ALLSTAR. 6/6 vigilance reach... Plus he makes them lose life almost guaranteed to get rid of him. Control decks once again, hate him. Burn decks cry. Dredge decks are gonna hate him also, bestow isn't casting a creature. Unless you've played him without killing their big creatures off, he's a guaranteed 1 for 1 or more, with them losing at least 6 life.

Read the Bones WHY NOT UNDERWORLD YOU SAY? Because I don't want to wait til next turn to draw another. I want my cards, and I want them now! You use this turn 3-4, and go "do I want these top two cards?" then draw to your desire. Faster results than underworld. Plus, turn 5-6 hopefully you're ploppin' down a wincon. So you can't draw that turn with a land.

Scavenging Ooze This guy wins games. He gains life (which is a resource you USE ALOT), and stalls the board out. a 3/3 or 4/4 on turns 3-4 make aggro decks slow down. He puts early pressure on control and also can help you win (I've won against u/w control when they were on the elixir plan. In response to them using Elixir of Immortality you Abrupt Decay it, then eat it with Scavenging Ooze and also you've eaten most of their good cards previously in case you didn't get to kill the elixir). So I decked the u/w control that way. Just another efficient card, hardly ever a bad card.

The rest of the deck is easy to understand. Removal, hand disruption. Quick note : you shoudn't EVER have to thoughtseize turn one. Ever. Play a scry land, pass turn. You want to play thoughtseize one or two turns before they are gonna play something huge. Plus, you want them to draw more cards before you thoughtseize. Get the good stuff. DO NOT FORGET, you can hit planeswalkers with rakdos's return!

SIDEBOARD TECH:

Control: Put in duress, chant, hydra, sire, and slaughter games.

Aggro: kill spells. anger of the gods. Ezpz

Midrange: Chant. It makes the midgame keep going.

Enchantment and constellation: Polis crusher. Do I need to say more? Also aburpt decay. Duress.

Use your judgement. Shift the board according to your meta. Most aggro decks will lose game 1, be stomped turn 2.

Went 3-1, seems like I always go one loss..

ANYWAY.

Round 1 - vs g/b dredge. Scavenging ooze and golgari charm make the game easy peasy. 2-0

Round 2 - Junk constellation. Close games, but I stabalized and got there both games. Game 2 dropped polis crusher and was a stroll after that. 2-0

Round 3 - G/W monster/aggro stuff. VERY close game 2, but I had Stormbreath out and he couldn't trample it out. Got there, 2-0

Round 4 - B/W midrange. Game 1 he double thoughtsiezed me, and used a lifebane, I drew 5 lands and it was game. Game 2 got stuck on 3 mana with slaughtergames in hand, after thoughtseizing him. I had the 3 mana in my starting hand, 8 turns in not a single land drawn. Poop. 0-2
