Jund Energy My way.
Why the cards are in the deck:
Glint-Sleeve Siphoner I like this card a lot as it's a very good card engine against control decks. It also gets in a few damage early and menance allows it to go against a single big creature.
Bristling Hydra Great 4 drop that is basically immune to at least the first removal spell and a good energy spender. After FNM i realized that i wanted to drop this guy turn 4 every game, so i popped 4 in the main. It's that good when you're meta is full of green black or mardu. Less good against saheeli.
Fatal Push best removal in the format, One of the main reasons we're in black and not just green/red
Glorybringer This card has overperformed tremendously in recent tournaments. It kills their Gideon in the air and blasts a creature out of the way. We don't want too many of these in our hand, but we want it every game. So we're running 3.
Voltaic Brawler One of the better creatures in green red. 4 power trampler for 2 mana and one energy.
Harnessed Lightning Not much to say about this. You gain energy if you kill something small, and you can spend a lot of energy to kill something big. Very versatile spell.
Longtusk Cub Way more threatening than it looks. If it survives a turn and you attuned turn 1, you can swing in for 3 and they probably can't block if they only have a 2/2 which turns out to be very common, so you pump to a 3/3 anyway, and gain 2 energy. Well it's not going to get better for them, so they use their next turn to remove cub, this gives you time to play more threats
Sideboard Choices:
Sweltering Suns swap this in for the Glint-sleeve against very aggro decks, like the zombies deck
New Cards from Amonkhet
Khenra Charioteer I might be wayyyyyy too hyped for this card, but i don't know how many times i've said "if only my hydra, or 10/10 cub had trample...." I'll playtest with this, but we're lucky in jund because there is a LOT of good stuff in these colors we can try. We aren't hurting for options.
Vizier of the Menagerie This card looks amazing to me. With a lot of creatures in the deck (29 to be exact) this is basically like being able to play off the top of our deck almost half the time. It also helps us cast whatever we want with whatever colors we want, which could be relevant.
Bone Picker This card i'm the least sure about. I want to playtest with it a bit to see how often i can cast it for 1, and how often i wait until 4. 1 mana 3/2 flying deathtouch is bonkers and i'd run 30 if I could, We shall see.
Rhonas the Indomitable Wut.....best God. Might put 4 in the main. Edit- Decided on 2. It's dead on the field if we don't have a creature out there, so we want it, but don't want another in our hands that often and it's really just a helper card, not our win condition.
Maybe Cards
Arlinn Kord She actually does a lot of good in this deck. Low loyalty yes...so against creature decks we might side her out, but against control this just puts them on a much faster clock and can flip to destroy a creature if we can last long enough.
2-11 Went 3-1 at gameday, lost to the Mardu Vehicles, but I think i could have won if I hadn't gotten mana flooded both games.
