Jund Mid-Range Devour

Modern* BRG (Jund)

coffeeCampbell

Maybeboard

First turns:

  • Generate tokens, persist creatures for blocks
  • Get Birds of Paradise into play for Ramp

Early Mill:

Altar of Dementia + Melira, Sylvok Outcast

This combo can use either Kitchen Finks or Safehold Elite and mills all cards from opponents' libraries into their Graveyard.

Mid to Late-game

  • Drop devour creatures to create huge threats, preferably Mycoloth
  • Kresh will feed off of devoured or sacrificed creatures.
  • Garruk Wildspeaker can pump the tokens that Mycoloth generates, with trample FTW

Thoughts

This deck feels a bit unfocused, like I have two-in-one. Kresh and the Melira combos are fantastic in their own rite.

On one hand, there is a Kresh-Melira-Persist sac deck, and on the other a Mycoloth-Token deck. Considering splitting these up.

Thinking about removing:

  • 2x Safehold Elite for something that gives trample
  • 1x Voracious Dragon for another devour creature or fling creature
