This looks sweet! What do you think about Arlinn Kord  Flip and Traverse the Ulvenwald?

EmperorWalrus: Thanks!

In my original build, Arlinn Kord  Flip was a part of the build as he deck was a little more aggressive with smaller creatures. Idk how well she works in this build, but no one knows until it'seems tried. I'mean going to test her out through the week as I just got 3 copies of her today.

As for Traverse the Ulvenwald: I can see it being a nice turn 1 play to help mana balancing for colors. Getting Goblin Dark-Dwellers late game and flashing back something is also good too. Not that high on it though. What would I drop if I wanted to play it?

Maybe dropping a Transgress the Mind? I haven't played with it much, but running 3 seems like a lot.

EmperorWalrus: No way. Transgress the Mind is one of my too spells in my deck. The card always does a great deal for me especially after sideboarding and they have one of their sideboard cards in their hand.

That was dumb. I meant Dead Weight. Haha.

Jigadoon: I really think Dead Weight is terrible because late game it does absolutely nothing, and even early game, it's also sorcery speed which is a huge bummer.

IzzetGod: Alright, cool.

EmperorWalrus: Thanks for the feedback. I will keep Traverse the Ulvenwald in mind because again, it fixes mana on turn 1 and allows me to keep 2-3 land hands more often. I just don't know what I'll be swapping it out with right now.

Dead Weight is an enchantment and kills something on turn one, instead of turn 2.

Jigadoon: But what threatens me on turn 1? Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip is a good one drop, but what if I'm on the play?

I think you should try Arlinn Kord  Flip x3 and -1 Chandra, Flamecaller, also Tireless Tracker is a good option for draw, at least 2x

Ultrakill says... #13

Oh, and also 1x Ob Nixilis Reignited

Ultrakill: Thanks for the suggestions!

I've already stated in a comment above why I don't use Arlinn Kord  Flip. I feel she's not ment for this deck. She's not Xenagos, the Reveler when making tokens because she transforms. Most of the abilities on her require creatures. Her +1 that gives +2/+2, Vigilance and Haste is REALLY SWEET! But when will I ever use it? In this deck since I have very few creatures; I would always immediately 0 her and get a token. And then after she flips, my best option is to Lightning Bolt something with her -1 and flip her back.

This past Monday, I tested 2x Chandra, Flamecaller and 1x Ob Nixilis Reignited and Chandra again won me the game everytime she showed up to the battlefield. Ob Nixilis Reignited however...I wasn't really impressed with at all. I only got to play him twice and both times I immediately destroyed a creature and couldn't use the +1 that well because of my low life total at the time. I know he's a good Planeswalker, but I still feel Chandra over powers him for sure.

Tireless Tracker is an interesting one that I may test out. My only issue is the 3 CMC and I have a lot of different stuff that I can cast on turn 3. I don't think replacing Sylvan Advocate with him is worth having the green in the deck for (since the green is mainly for Sylvan Advocate and Hissing Quagmire and, depending on the meta, sideboard cards.

how good is hangarback walker with all these exile effects in standard right now?

April 14, 2016 8:15 a.m.

IzzetGod says... #16

Nightninja10: Honestly I have no idea because it's never happened yet. I imagine if it does; it can be pretty bad to play but one way around it is to kill him by using the Shatter effect on Kolaghan's Command in response to the exile effect.

Ah that's a great synergy that I didn't see. I like this deck a lot it seems fun. Is there a reason you don't play kalitas? And does the manabase work well?

April 14, 2016 8:28 a.m.

IzzetGod says... #18

Nightninja10: The manabase works perfect. I have yet to have an issue. Only thing that can be an issue is Mindwrack Demon milling lands that you need.

Mindwrack Demon is the sole reason I don't run Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. The Demon has Trample, he isn't Legendary, he enables Delirium which is important in this deck type. And most importantly, he survives Languish. He's easily a better beat stick than Kalitas. Everyone that's seen me play the deck asked me he same question and they all agreed with my points that the Demon in this case is the better choice.

I think Traverse the Ulvenwald could go in for the Read the Bones The fixing is super helpful I find and once you've got delirium a one drop creature tutor is pretty fat and wont set you back life

You should consider playing roast post sideboard. I think it's better than sinister concoction. Also a sin prodder is a fine Card in this deck. I play a similar deck and i agree that there is no place for arlinn kord, her abillities is not what this deck needs. I play thunderbreak regent too and is my replace for demon which i don't have. I try to playing woodland wanderer and only eldrazi displacer in one white black deck are ruining my plans by blinking it and it comes back without counters. I agree with you that jund will be one of the Best decks in new standard especially in this very fast meta right now.

IzzetGod says... #23

SorinSkies: Thanks for the suggestion, but I've realized that Traverse the Ulvenwald isn't for this deck. Really, what creature do I want to get? It would probably always be Goblin Dark-Dwellers, but even then, that won't be much of a deal. Read the Bones at least gets me removal.

NowyGracz: Thanks for the feedback! Sinister Concoction is much better in this deck. It enables Delirium which has so much power in this deck by making To the Slaughter better and stops me from losing life on Mindwrack Demon and it can kill flying creatures like Dragonlord Ojutai. Sin Prodder I just think he's a bust in general. I fear a lot that he would make me lose lands and when I don't have enough lands, they'll be more than happy to let me draw non-land cards. If I'm going to add him at all to test (since I own none), I'm gonna wait until he drops to $1 because I can't see him being that good. I feel the decks that want him are the aggressive decks.
