Lately decks have become much faster and more aggressive, putting monsters in an unusual position. Either not getting what we need, or getting too much of what we need and having a hand full of bombs and losing early. I have been trying to go back to the original monster roots, and going back to the explosive and crippling Flesh / Bloods and
Ghor-Clan Rampager
combos.Starting to feel as if
Rakdos's Return
is a tad bit too slow for this deck.
Two time first place FNM and first place BNG Game Day, with many 2nd place finishes.I will be using this deck going forward, and liquidating the rest of my cards into modern.

, the most reliable removal spell, often sided in for anything with haste or anything that is a large threat.
Abrupt Decay - Powerful removal for =/< 3CMC, Detention Sphere, Boros Reckoner, Various Planeswalkers and quick aggro decks. cant be countered.
Dreadbore - strong removal of all types, planeswalkers as a bonus. cheap casting cost.
Garruk, Caller of Beasts - Another planeswalker that UW/UWR/RW Burn and control decks have difficulty with. without an answer, the card draw gets out of hand quickly.
Golgari Charm - Detention Sphere,
Master of Waves
, 1 toughness weenie decks/tokens, board wipe regeneration, all purpose all star, debating on three copies.
Mistcutter Hydra
- Control Allstar. anyone with blue in their colours has difficulty dealing with this threat, in addition.. if a kalonian resolves and attacks, these counters double too.
Mizzium Mortars - Takes care of creatures such as Blood Baron of Vizkopa & Stormbreath Dragon quite easy to overload for board wipes elsewhere.
Sire Of Insanity - Card draw or not, this will shut down control and burn decks if played while they are tapped out. Then there is a 6/4 on the board that needs an answer. Replaced Ruric Thar, the Unbowed because you can come back from a ruric, if sire hits the board and isnt answered immediately, your opponent's hand is dismissed at end of turn.
Vraska the Unseen - multiple forms of removal, additional planeswalker for UW Control, Scary target for aggro decks, win condition if unanswered. Will typically 2:1 any deck.
