With the add of Arcum's Astrolabe (the fetch land of pauper) I think we are able to viably go 3 color for ultimate utility for Tortured Existence. Adding a color usually dilutes Black mana which makes it worse, but in this case with the filtering, we do not need to worry as much. Relying on Red for card draw and discard for Grave Scrabbler or Golgari Brownscale
