I second that vote for Deadbridge Chant . I am using it in my Junk mid range and its brutal with some of the stuff that I put on my battlefield for free. Also, Reaper of the Wilds was a horrible pain at prerelease for me, I imagine it can really make life hard in a deck properly constructed format as well.As for other options, I really like what Desecration Demon can do in here. A 6/6 flier for 4 is always nice...but if they start sacrificing to him you start gaining board advantage, and getting food for your Shamans and Ooze. Also, props for using the Whip! I love that card....it's going to be a thing for Reanimators all across the format...I love how it can Reanimate Obzedat permanently. Good luck with the build.

i love both the cards, not sure what to take out. It just dawned on me though Hellkite Tyrant is going to be an absolute monster in the new meta, especially combined with Whip of Erebos . reanimate, steal their god, profit...

This deck seems awesome. I love the card interactions and the "tone" of the deck. Have you updated it since September? How did it do in competitive play? I think I'm going to build it regardless :P

thanks chucklepunch. i miss my innistrad jund zombies :/ this is still fun to play. the only change I made was the Shock in place of the Rakdos Cackler

Have you tried Underworld Cerberus in this deck? Has nice synergy with the troll. Could start working in cards like Scavenging Ooze to further the dynamic.
November 13, 2013 6:35 p.m.
problem with Underworld Cerberus is that it will negate Chandra's Pheonix from being reanimated with a burn, also I would not be able to scavenge the Dreg Mangler . It is nice to get the cards back in hand, but if I wanted to do that, I would rather use Rise of the Dark Realms

No it wont Chandra doesn't get targeted. Underworld Cerberus says cards can't be the target of spells.
I would Just go Junk zombies.so much better.

Actually, in regards to Underworld Cerberus , it merely says cards in graveyards can't be the target of spells or abilities. Chandra's Phoenix doesn't target so it can come back. You may also still scavenge since you aren't targeting a card in a graveyard. But I think the deck is fine without it anyways. +1 from me

I think you should try Hero's Downfall instead of Dreadbore and Putrefy and Thoughtseize instead of Shock . Also, a playset of Magma Jet s is probably better than 2 of them and 2 Mizzium Mortars since Magma Jet returns Chandra's Phoenix . Underworld Connections is also a GREAT card against control and it really stretches their Detention Sphere s because they need them for Lotleth Troll , Chandra's Phoenix , and Chandra, Pyromaster . I'd play 4 of them over the Elixir of Immortality , Destructive Revelry s (because the only thing you're really targeting with them is Detention Sphere , which is killed by Golgari Charm ), and 1 Pithing Needle . Sorry about the wall of text.

Dreadbore and Putrefy are easier to cast than Hero's Downfall , and way cheaper on the wallet. Mizzium Mortars handles Blood Baron of Vizkopa as well as Pack Rat and any token generators.
I originally had Thoughtsieze in here, but it ended up killing me faster than hurting my opponent. May put it back in, as the RDW decks are few and far in between nowdays.

Ok. The Dreadbore and Putrefy arguments make sense to me, but I still think Mizzium Mortars isn't that great because I don't think Blood Baron of Vizkopa is that much a problem for you.

i might swap it to the sideboard and mainboard the Golgari Charm .

+1. Love the idea and the synergy in this deck.
Don't have any suggestions for cards to use, besides adding some of the Rakdos scry lands next set.

wombocombo thanks for the +1. it is really fun to play, and really smooth so far

Have you tried Reaper of the Wilds ? He's go great with all your removal
December 27, 2013 3:46 a.m.
not sure what I would take out for Reaper of the Wilds in here. It does go great with all the removal, but not sure what to replace.
December 27, 2013 11:48 a.m.
Well if it was me I'd replace Lifebane Zombie and move him to the sideboard, but since the theme is zombies maybe you'd like to keep it mainboard
December 27, 2013 11:54 a.m.
Lifebane Zombie is so good though. wrecks hands, although Reaper of the Wilds might be way better as a finisher
December 27, 2013 2:11 p.m.
Lifebane Zombie only wrecks some hands, and has a much harder color cost. It's a great card in this format, but its more sideboardy. Doesn't really deserve mainboard attention unless your meta is all Orzhov control.
