Maybeboard

Hello planeswalker, and welcome to Jund'em Sac-attack. This is a Jund-coloured (Black/Red/Green) commander deck themed around creating tokens and sacrificing them for value, commanded by Kresh the Bloodbraided. It is functionally very similar to a Prossh, Skyraider of Kher deck but I am choosing to use Kresh in this build as Prossh has a bit of a bad reputation and in some playgroups can get you targeted right from the get go. It is very important to manage your table image to the other commander players (I think of it like PR) especially when you may not be able to walk the walk. I am not building this deck to be the most powerful at the table, rather to be fun and synergistic. Plus I enjoy using a lesser known general over a rather ubiquitous one like Prossh. You could easily swap Kresh for Prossh if that is more your style with minimal needed modifications. I also think Kresh's card and art are awesome (especially the original Raymond Swanland art).

Like many edh decks, this deck spends its early turns setting up and ramping like crazy. I subscribe to the philosophy that an edh deck should generally have around ten mana accelerants to ramp our mana and ten card draw spells. For mana rocks we have Sol Ring because Sol Ring and Chromatic Lantern so we will never have to worry about mana fixing again. We also have some of the standard suite of green land search Rampant Growth effects. I prefer these to mana dorks like Llanowar Elves because lands will not die as collateral damage from mass removal board wipes like Wrath of God and leave our mana base weakened. Solemn Simulacrum and Farhaven Elf will give you a sacrificable body, Sakura-Tribe Elder and Primal Growth activates your death trigger synergy pieces such as Kresh, and Cultivate ensures you hit your land drop the next turn.

The synergy that drives this deck comes in three parts. First, you need a lot of creatures. Token producers are best for this. Awakening Zone and From Beyond double as mana ramp, Creakwood Liege pumps some of your creatures so you get more value with Kresh, and Kher Keep hides in the mana base.

Second, you need to kill a lot of your creatures. Free sacrifice outlets are invaluable because they allow you to sacrifice any amount of creatures at any time. Ashnod's Altar gives you temporary ramp, Viscera Seer filters the cards you draw, and if you sacrifice enough creatures to Goblin Bombardment and Phyrexian Plaguelord you can mow down enemy creatures.

Third, you need to profit off of your creatures' deaths. The deck's primary win condition are cards like Blood Artist. To win with these, You need to get enough variants of Blood Artist and enough creatures that by sacrificing all your creatures to a free sac-outlet in one fell swoop, you can K.O. multiple opponents. Zulaport Cutthroat, Falkenrath Noble, Goblin Sharpshooter, Stalking Vengeance, Vicious Shadows, and Deathbringer Thoctar all work as blood artist duplicates and sometimes net you additional value. Butcher of Malakir and Catacomb Sifter give us other rewards for sacrificing our creatures. Kresh the Bloodbraided himself is in this category, and an alternate win condition of this deck is to make Kresh big enough to kill opponents with 21 commander damage.

Right now I am looking for ways to make the deck cheaper while hopefully keeping some of the cooler expensive cards. Yeah, I know I probably cannot have both. I have a pretty long maybeboard/other options list so I do not particularly need card suggestions (though I still welcome them!) I am curious if anybody thinks I should cut one of these cards and why. Leave any feedback in the comments.
