@Minelia5, glad you appreiate it! I'm really not paying for this deck though, I've been using PucaTrade to nab my Tarmogoyfs. And there's always that playtest button if you wanna try it out!

Deck looks pretty sweet overall, really like the Kolaghan's Command. It might be a good idea to try removing Bitterblossom from the sideboard though, as it seems to me to lack synergy with the rest of the deck. I would recommend including something for the affinity matchup, perhaps Ancient Grudge?

@MythicToast:Thanks for the suggestions, I was looking at cards like Creeping Corrosion or Shatterstorm to fit into the artifact hate, but Ancient Grudge works.

If, you really want true aggressive jund look at jund dragons, Dragonlord Atarka and other fast agressive dragons.

Vandalblast is another anti-artifact sideboard possibility.

I think that Vandalblast is good but, I don't see myself using its overload cost. So for that I would just use Shatterstorm as a anti-artifact sweeper. Thanks for the suggestion!

Did that guy use the word "fast" while referencing a 7 drop?

Hey man! Nice deck! +1 from me. I feel you with the expense of the deck. Mine is pushing just over 2k right now. I like this deck and I am a huge fan of jund. I have a friend who plays it quite well I will pick his brain a bit and report back. Are you still dealing with the issue of trying to offset life loss from bob? What are the other aspects you are trying to improve so I know where to look. This deck looks pretty sound as it sits but let me know where you feel your weaknesses are and I will try to help out!

rtangci says... #14

XTechNinjaX Thank you for looking at my deck! ATM I am experimenting with Tasigur, the Golden Fang and I can not justify why it is used by the pros and everyone else playing it. Also I have pretty much solved Bob's life loss by just tilting my mana curve to 1-2 CMC.

But problems I have been running into is more on the matchups with different decks now. Decks similar to G/R Tron, Affinity, and Burn have been sometimes to quick for me to stabilize sometimes. I don't want to side in Leyline of Sanctity because I don't want to draw it in the middle of the game being a dead drop for Burn. For the other two decks I have just been siding more hate for artifacts.

Any help on the Burn matchup will be of great help!Thank you again for the help!

Hey rtangci. So I 100% understand your plight with Tasigur, the Golden Fang. I don't like him either but the theory behind him is that he is a big threat that potentially costs just 1 mana which is very cool and if you use his delve properly to remove dead items form the grave you can force your opponent to give you what you want from the grave. I hate delve in my deck though and have even removed the 1 of Murderous Cut because it absolutely wrecks my Tarmogoyf so I almost always end up hard casting it anyways.

I also don't like Leyline of Sanctity because if you don't open with it then it is useless. For burn I am a huge fan of Surgical Extraction. This means if a red deck hits you with something nasty, you make sure it is the last time they hit you with it. I run 2 in my side but you could justify 3 as it is great in a lot of matchups. Another great item for the burn matchup that just came out is Infinite Obliteration. That card is gonna be a huge sideboard item.

I do feel like you could justify running at least 2 Courser of Kruphix in the main here. I am a huge Golgari player so I won't pretend to know what to cut to make room for it in a Jund deck but for me when I have the Dark Confidant out and see something on the top with Courser of Kruphix that I don't like, nothing is better than cracking a fetch to shuffle it away AND netting a life in the process instead of losing a life. He is a great way to counteract the damage you do end up taking from Dark Confidant and like I said he gives you a few more options while sustaining you quite effectively. I also love that he is out of reach of most modern burn removal such as Lightning Bolt so he can stick around an provide good protection as well.

One last card for the burn matchup I haven't seen since it was in standard because it is not THAT amazing is Witchbane Orb. This would be an alright 1 or 2 of because if you hit it late it isn't useless like Leyline of Sanctity but if you do get it out on game 2 I would take it back out for game 3 because a burn player is bound to be packing artifact hate in the side. If you pull it out of and win game 2 with it then swapping it back out for game 3 will hopefully mean your opponent ends up holding a few dead draw artifact hate cards in game 3 while you draw into the power pieces you took out in game 2.

Just some ideas, obviously cater your side board to your meta. My meta is full of control players so I run 3x Choke which is like the single most amazing card in magic for ruining a control player's day. I hope something I said helped and if you need anything else let me know! Sorry it took so long to reply.

Thanks for the response. Have looked into Choke for the SB. But I probably won't get it in anytime soon, because my meta has a heavier Elves, Zoo, Affinity presence here.

I have spotted Infinite Obliteration in the spoilers and have started to look for a slot or two in my side for it.

As for the Burn matchups, I've started to use good 'ol Kitchen Finks. And with the all my hand attack spells I can run their hand dry pretty fast to the point that I start stabilizing. Usually around 8-10 life.

And Tasigur, I have started to run one instead of my Olivia now because of the decline in Junk decks all around me. Hopefully Dark Confidant doesn't flip him..

Also...Courser of Kruphix + Dark Confidant + Fetchlands = The closest we'll ever get to a Brainstorm + Fetch

XTechNinjaX says... #19

Not really sure how I feel about Kitchen Finks but I might look into for my own purposes. One thing I would recommend if you are dealing with a lot of affinity is Creeping Corrosion. A friend of mine runs affinity and he basically scoops if I cast that. It is a great spell that hits their lands as well. Fracturing Gust and Gaze of Granite are also pretty nice for affinity but gaze is less destructive and a bit more diverse while gust is slower but has a much bigger influence on the game, then again blowing up everything someone owns is just about all you need anyways.

Let me know if you find any other answers too and let me know what you think of Kitchen Finks!

XTechNinjaX

The Kitchen Finks are a great help to our arsenal against just general aggro decks, it's a recurring threat that is a life gain, it's as close as we'll get to a Siege Rhino.

As for the affinity matchup, it's turned into just a hard fight game 1 and sweep them with the Anger of the Gods, Shatterstorm, and Jund Charm.

Do hope the Finks work for you!!

Abbot of Keral Keep is an interesting choice. How has it been for you? I play a Chandra, Pyromaster in that slot, as you can potentially use it every turn and the not being able to block is nice.

Plus it can pick off pesky 1/1 fliers, say from Lingering Souls or whatever.

July 29, 2015 1:32 a.m.

rtangci says... #23

Abbot of Keral Keep after playing him a few times, he has always been good to me. It's more of the timing that's a lot trickier. You would always have to play him as a 4-5 turn drop. Never just jamming it turn two unless I was desperate. I've revealed alot of good cards as well as saving some damage for myself from flipping a Tasigur with Abbot instead with Bob triggers. What sold it to me and my friend was that it said that ''you may play'' the card. Not cast. Meaning it can help us pick our tempo back up from any missing land drops.

Lingering Souls

And because of that I have already started maining Chandra (just took a while for me to get to updating it here), as well as adding another Abbot, and returning Olivia Voldaren back to her place. Tasigur has been completely underwhelming for me.

All in all I think Abbot has been a nice addition to the list.

Tasigur, the Golden Fang is interesting. I played him in an Esper tempo deck that routinely got him out turn 3 (and sometimes turn 2) and he really did shine. In Junk and Jund he's okay sometimes, but running Dark Confidant and him together doesn't work very well. There have been games in Junk where his ability to get cards back won me the game, though.

I'll consider testing Abbot of Keral Keep with my deck.

You see I really think that Tas is better used for decks with a more control aspect, making them give the players back "value" cards and not dead ones i.e. Inquisition, and Thoughtseize, in game 1's against different decks, when you are more than 6 turns in the game.
