I was wondering how reanimator would look come rotation. This seems to be it, for sure. Guess I'll need those scavenging ooze after all haha...though, I guess just having more selesnya charms would be a bit effective, too. I'm rambling. +1 man lol

Spootyone take one more look at it, changed a couple things. Does it look better or worse to you?

I'd personally stick with the mystic. It looks good! Treasured Find is in here, why? Just curious. Also, you have 61 MB 14 SB just fyi.

@ Spootyone, yeah, I think I like the mystic better too. Treasured Find is there just in case I mill with Grisly Salvage and have to discard a Whip of Erebos that I need.

Also, I always build 61 card decks, it's a tick with me. :)

I've been toying with the same sort of deck recently. Have you considered Lotleth Troll as a discard outlet to get rid of reanimate targets from your hand if you draw them?

Reanimator is rough, you may consider trying one or two Rescue from the Underworld just to get the full effect of Ashen Rider because one attack step with it will not win you the game. I like the idea with the Armada Wurm though, you get left the token... not bad. I think that Giant Adephage is really going to shine in something like this because you can just build and build and build.

Angel of Serenity will also be huge here because you can bring back multiple creatures from your yard just by pulling it from the graveyard once.

How does that look Chilli_Axe and fluffybunnypants? I think all of those suggestions are solid

If you touch up on your mana base it may run smoother. It might not necessarily be the other cards in the deck.

I think that looks pretty damn good. It will be interesting to see how it plays out when i can actually play test it. I would perhaps invest in some Godless Shrine s if you're serious about running it too.
The use of Trostani looks good on paper in terms of making up for the lack of the swagtusks. It will be interesting to see how that rolls.
I think a solid wincon lies in your ability to pull out an Angel of Serenity with Whip of Erebos , take three cards from your yard and put them directly into play. I also think that Voice of Resurgence will be amazing with rescue. Sac it, get a token, it comes back... with a buddy, pump the token.

Ooooooh, ooooooh. Brooooooooo. Jarad's Orders .
Tutor up a Voice of Resurgence drop an Ashen Rider or Angel of Serenity in the yard. Rescue from the Underworld to get them back. Create a token when Voice is sacrificed. Voice comes back with a buddy, token gets pumped, you suddenly have ten plus power on the board.

I understand the VOR love, if I was a rich man. Jarad's Orders has merit tho. I see the merit in the shrines too, a lot of dual mana costs here. I have been play testing the mess out of this and when I added the Lotleth Troll this deck took off like a bat out of hell. My main problem was I would draw into the creatures I wanted in the yard and had no way to get them there. The bonus of pumping the troll is just nasty. The card draw is there for the most part, but I still see Erebos, God of the Dead having at the very least a SB presence.
@ fluffybunnypants, the Trostani, Selesnya's Voice works so good in this deck I almost want to run 3 of. You drop that Obzedat, Ghost Council and gain 7 every turn when you bring it back. Not to mention the Angel of Serenity when it gets hit with the whip, you gain 6 then it leaves and you get that 3 creature swing and gain 16 or more, its ugly. Plus the LG from the lifelink on the whip. Its just crazy when on turn 6 you are looking at swinging 24 damage and sitting at 34 life.

Interesting! Funnily enough, I'm building two decks very similar to this, one B/G and the other B/W, except minus all the dredge. I'm just very paranoid about Burning Earth and cheap graveyard hate like Rest in Peace , so I stick to two colours and mostly run 4-5 CMC beaters like Desecration Demon , Kalonian Hydra and Obzedat, Ghost Council , using the whip to bring them back (isn't it great that Obzedat sticks around after he's whipped?!). I think you can get away without Read the Bones with Grisly Salvage and Commune with the Gods drawing and dumping stuff you can whip. Erebos, God of the Dead should do as your draw, and you'll have plenty of life with the whip in play (not sure about running four whips though, I guess you'll discard a few digging for answers). Anyway, I like it! B/x Erebos Whipping does look like a versatile combination, and I look forward to which versions work out the best!

Remember that Angel will put the creatures in your hand not right into play. For the most part with Angel you'll want to pull easily castable cards that grant you an advantage and alternate as fodder for rescue. But that's just my take.

I think that voice is ideal because of the creature advantage it can give you. It actually nullifies the downside of rescue, which is that your opponent can pop graveyard hate and nullify it, losing you the creature you sacrificed. With voice, you still have a creature in play that you can pump by adding additional copies of it with Trostani or pump by adding additional creatures.

I was wondering about Angel of Serenity , it'll let you cast stuff again, but you might be better off just letting stuff die, then whipping it back in. And he did say that the only reason he (or anyone really!) isn't using Voice of Resurgence is because it's prohibitively expensive.

Yeah, fluffybunnypants and Coucho_Marx, I always forget that Angel of Serenity returns to hands and not to the BF. There's probably a better card than that then. Dangit, that would have been so nice too.

You could always replace it with Jarad's Orders . Keep a creature that's relevant to you now, and graveyard a big creature you wouldn't normally hardcast like Ashen Rider or Lord of the Void , then just whip or Rescue from the Underworld the dead one back. Kind of like an Unburial Rites deck, except not. Not as good for your Deathrite Shaman or Scavenging Ooze as your other dredge cards, but much more reliable.

Hmm, could be my stick for Erebos, God of the Dead , and I am really thinking of entirely SB the Abrupt Decay for the Jarad's Orders , because removal isn't always going to be super relevant. But finding what I want is.

I rather like the looks of this deck. I think maybe the Bow should be part of your main board to compliment the whip but i am a relative rookie.

I'm thinking of skipping the turn 1 drop Elvish Mystic and going with a Gyre Sage type feel??
