Perhaps drop a Whip of Erebos and one of your dredge spells, then run two? Or you could board out your Sin Collector (best on the sideboard, they're pretty useless against a creature-heavy deck) and put them in?

Angel of Serenity remains one of the best reanimation targets post-rotation. I would suggest running that as your main target. Also try Obzedat's Aid

The only thing I don't like about the AOS is that her ability returns the creatures to your hand, and not the battlefield. So I will have to re-cast the creatures rather than have them instantly flash in. And the whole point of the re-animator ability is to not have to pay the mana cost, unless I just dump them immediately to boost the Lotleth Troll for +3/+3. If that's what you were going for. In play testing so far, she just works too slow.

I would drop one whip and add it in its place. you already have some good synergy with the graveyard between your two other whips and your Rescue from the Underworld ...That way you could sideboard your sin collectors for Erebos, God of the Dead if needed. But like i mentioned before still a new to the new. Been gone for far too long from the game to give too solid of advice.

@ShadowLand
Her ETB trigger also hits creatures on the battlefield, often clearing the opponent's board and relieving any sort of pressure there may be on you. She has shown her worth in traditional reanimator lists as a source of card advantage and removal.

If you are wanting to keep her though uargaroth, you would HAVE to use the Rescue from the Underworld on her, (if being used to clear the opponents board) because with the Whip reanimation, she is gone at end of turn and they get their guys back in their hand, which can be useful, but not as much so as if she stayed.
if only Restoration Angel wasn't rotating
Still, valid point, and I still like her recursion for Lotleth Troll as well too

I agree with the suggestions on Trostani's Summoner . She is good, but you have better reanimator targets in Lord of the Void and Angel of Serenity , so I'd increase the numbers of those and remove the summoner.

What do you guys think about Deathrite Shaman to chew through the chaff from Grisly Salvage and Commune with the Gods ?
September 21, 2013 6:23 a.m.
It seems like it would be competitive until you realize that the reason Junk Rites fell out of favor (Scavenging Ooze ) is still in rotation and that every green aggro deck is forced to run it because the more aggressive creatures have rotated out.

@ Chilli_Axe yes I have thought about him, he seems like a good fit. Once again you are faced with the tough choice of what to sub out.
@ Ashnard, when coming up against a deck running the ooze, there are plenty of answers to deal with it. A full SB of Abrupt Decay is there for a reason.
September 21, 2013 9:38 a.m.
There's also DRS. Either way, the fact that Ooze single handedly brought Rites from tier 1 to tier 1.5 is still there and that this is still a worse version of that deck.

Yeah, I think the focus on dredging is going to get you killed in this standard. Best to build around creatures that are good anyway, and using the whip as an incedetal bonus. Perhaps make it a more midrangey type, topping out with Obzedat, Ghost Council and Gray Merchant of Asphodel , both of which come out and drain life, then can be whipped back to do it again once they die (or not, in the case of Obzedat). Remove the super-high cost and dredge stuff for beaters like Reaper of the Wilds and Desecration Demon , maybe some Burst of Strength in case you're worried about him being tapped out?

@ Ashnard, I have no idea what that has to do with making my deck better. And saying that the deck is a worse version of another deck also does nothing to help because that was in a completely different Standard meta, half those cards won't be standard legal in 6 days. Whole new meta, so I think I will try different things and see how it goes.
@ Coucho_Marx, as solid of advice as that is, the whole point of THIS deck is to re-animate, if I find that in my meta it drops on its face, then I will obviously switch up to figure out a way to get it better for what I am up against. But to quit on it just because something similar hasn't or wouldn't work in the past, just isn't how a person brews ideas. I don't play netdecks and never have. I try to be original and do stuff that breaks the norm. It doesn't always work, but that's part of the learning experience and fun of the game.
I don't mean this to sound snooty or dismissive, I'd just like to try it out before I shut it down entirely because its not a tier 1 deck right out of the gate.
September 23, 2013 7:27 a.m.
I would STRONGLY advise adding more land! You are running freaking 7 and 8 drops in the deck, but you only have 22 lands! I would suggest having at LEAST 24.
The previous reanimator got away with fewer lands because mulch was so efficient. Now you don't have mulch, and there are less accelerators.
September 23, 2013 7:46 a.m.
And with the whip, you should always have something to do with your mana when flooding out. If you keep drawing lands, you should eventually be able to cast spells and activate the whip in the same turn, which is very powerful.

I am also running 7 rampers with the Sylvan Caryatid s and the Elvish Mystic s Eskimole, I actually started with 25 lands originally and after play testing I dropped 3 because of the overwhelming abundance of mana I had. Playtest it and let me know how it goes, but I haven't found an issue running 22 with the mana producers as well
September 23, 2013 9:08 a.m.
Let us not Forget Ashen Rider a new target for reanimation and is great removal all together!!!
September 23, 2013 11:23 p.m.
This deck looks wayyy better than your BUG one. I say forget about that other one and focus your attention on perfecting this one instead.
September 25, 2013 2:27 a.m.
ShadowLand says... #21
LoL, I have been getting that feeling as well. Not that I think the BUG one doesn't have merit, but I just need more time to play with it. Also, I want to get at least 3 of those Reaper of the Wilds in here yuval, but I'm just not sure what to get rid of, some dredge perhaps . . . maybe one of each dredge and an Elvish Mystic ? The just shut down opponents advance so quick, and a turn 3-4 drop of one of those changes momentum like crazy
September 25, 2013 2:31 a.m.
I'd say go with something else in the 4-drop slot that doesn't do as much as the reaper. As of now, I only see desecration demon and trostani as available things for that slot. If neither of those feel worth removing to you, I'd say keep the card out of the deck, but I honestly think you could do away with trostani despite her combo abilities.
September 25, 2013 2:59 a.m.

As much as I love my trostani, I am thinking you may be right Spootyone, and I'm pretty sure with the whip having lifelink aura'd onto it, it won't really be missed that much

chandlerwrx06 I have thought about it, just not sure yet again that I can get it in there, or what to remove for it

Yes, I have thought that too Quadsimotto, its just what I have to take out to get it there . . .
Any thoughts there?
