Sideboard

Maybeboard

This deck has way too many cards due to the fact that it is more of a compilation of my ideas of what I am going to do post-rotation and then I will refine the deck down.

1 drop possibilities: Experiment One, Elvish Mystic

2 drops: Voice of Resurgence, Scavenging Ooze, Grisly Salvage, Treasured Find, Gyre Sage, Abrupt Decay, Doom Blade, High Priest of Penance, Lotleth Troll, Call of the Conclave, Blood Scrivener, Drown in Filth, Commune with the Gods

3 drops: Loxodon Smiter, Centaur Healer, Ajani, Caller of the Pride, Dreg Mangler, Putrefy, Banisher Priest, Underworld Connections, Dark Prophecy, Gift of Immortality, Read the Bones

4 drops: Advent of the Wurm, Gideon, Champion of Justice, Corpsejack Menace, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, Into the Wilds, Jarad's Orders, Whip of Erebos, Triad of Fates, Reaper of the Wilds

5 drops: Archangel of Thune, Blood Baron of Vizkopa, Kalonian Hydra, Vraska the Unseen, Obzedat, Ghost Council, Obzedat's Aid, Rescue from the Underworld

6 drops: Armada Wurm, Deadbridge Chant, Garruk, Caller of Beasts, Primeval Bounty, Merciless Eviction

7 drops: Angel of Serenity AND NOTHING ELSE!

8 drops: Ashen rider

One's im having trouble deciding between: Garruk, Caller of Beasts is the only card that I somewhat really wish I could squeeze into the deck. Problems with it are that it can get thrown away by grisly salvage and is a little high costed. But it is great and I have not enough card advantage in my opinion and that is the weakest facet of the deck I think. Blood Scrivener Dark Prophecy and Underworld Connections are the only 2 cards that provide any consistent card advantage and this deck never empties its hand really so only Underworld Connections and Dark Prophecy are the only cards which are usable which I would not know what to take out for.

I like ramp so on the one i chose Elvish Mystic and I'm kind of praying for another 1drop white or green accelerator in Theros.

I took voice of resugence and Gyre Sage on the 2 because voice is absolutely incredible especially post-Pillar of Flame and Gyre Sage will provide much needed ramp.

As my 3 drop I decided on Banisher Priest and it barely beat out Loxodon Smiter for the spot because he is essentially immune to control and provides a great 4/4 body on turn 2 which can either deter aggro or get in significant damage against control.

As my 4 drop I had a very hard time deciding and am still not sure but I think Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is my choice as she provides consistent lifegain and can populate both armada wurm tokens and voice elemental tokens gideon is my maybeboard second choice for this slot because he will be very strong post-rotation because he is immune to Supreme Verdict and can be a win-con by himself if not dealt with.

my 5 drops are after a lot of deliberation will be Vraska the Unseen and Obzedat, Ghost Council. Vraska is just great, she is removal and has a built-in win condition if not dealt with. Obzedat, Ghost Council I think is definitely mainboardable post rotation because Thragtusk will be gone and that was his worst trade but now he is simply a beefy 5/5 or 5 and has his flicker effect. He also works great with Voice of Resurgence as he is only removable on your turn and thus is tigger-bait.

My 6 drop is Armada Wurm because it has a great enter the battlefield effect and is populatable via Trostani, Selesnya's Voice as well as a 10 lifegain drop.

My 7 drop is of course Angel of Serenity cause there is nothing with that kind of power in standard.

My 8 drop is Ashen Rider this is due to its intensely strong enter the battlefield as well as on-death effect so even though in my opinion it is weak in terms of power and toughness for a creature of its cost it can remove absolutely anything that is causing me problems in the late-game (except hexproof creatures(but thats what sideboards are for))

Suggestions

Updates Add

After playing significantly against a very very strong selesnya deck many times that played trostani as well as considering all the lifegain in standard I have sideboarded 2x Erebos, God of the Dead.

Also after realizing the potential weakness of Gift of Immortality especially against Scavenging Ooze I have reduced it to a 2 of instead of 3.

After considering the great suggestions by people in this thread I have also removed 1 Ashen Rider because I found I too often had in hand more than 1 7+ costing card which was crippling and added in 2x Deadbridge Chant as It is quite strong once it gets going. This decision also helps nullify some of Gift of Immortalitys weakness.

Finally I am considering removing some of my other threats for more Obzedat, Ghost Council because of its unbelievable interaction with Whip of Erebos. (I would like feedback on this in terms of what I could potentially cut for more obzedat or if my deck should simply stay as is).

Thanks again everyone who commented and gave me some very helpful advice.
