This is an idea I had a while ago to stuff all of the good token-making planeswalkers into a token deck while at the same time trying to justify Doubling Season's ridiculous price. So far I've gone 3-0 at a local tournament, but Doubling Season never showed up and I sideboarded it out along with Garruk for the more aggressive matchups.
The idea here is to play a token deck for the first 3 - 4 turns and then start dropping planeswalkers. The tokens help keep up in the beginning and can outright win some games, but if they don't the planeswalkers will finish the job.
Planeswalkers:Sorin is the 3 of in this deck because his tokens are best for stabilizing and he can also act as an anthem. Elspeth helps cement my position if I'm already somewhat stable, and Ajani is the least effective without his ultimate.
Tokens: Voice of Resurgence and Lingering Souls are obvious, but Midnight Haunting and Selesnya Charm are slightly less so. The instant speed on both cards is a plus, but Selesnya Charm really stands out as a better alternative to
Raise the Alarm
. I think that the only reason BW tokens run Raise the Alarm over Selesnya Charm is that they're not running green. The versatility of the charm puts it way ahead of Raise the Alarm.
Other: Birds of Paradise and Deathrite Shaman are the mana dorks I chose for this deck. Birds might be replaceable by Noble Hierarch, but being able to produce black mana is more valuable than exalted in this deck. Knight of the Reliquary acts in two capacities, as a mana dork on a nice stick, and as a way to fuel Deathrite Shaman when there's a lack of fetchlands. It's not a great setup, but the Knight is better on its own than either of the other two mana dorks and I'm still working on getting the rest of the fetches. Intangible Virtue helps push the token part of the deck over the edge into a reliable strategy.
This was made using cards I have. With that said, let me know what you think I should replace the Knights with and if you have any other suggestions.
