Killing Wave ? You don't really have many creatures, so it would be basically 1-sided. You either cause board wipe, life loss, or partially both. Also, +1. This is an interesting deck. Check out my deck if you get time. The Kill-Twice Army

I was discussing Killing Wave with a friend and we kinda decided we weren't getting enough value running it. By the time I can pop it off big, the opponent very likely doesn't have many creatures on the field (at least assuming the deck is working) and early game it just serves to clutter my hand. Kind like Vexing Devil or Browbeat in that I'm letting the opponent pick whichever option he prefers the most. He can sac all but his important guys and he loses life that I could take later on without too much issue. But if you've got a good case for it, I'm certainly happy to take it for a spin. Thanks for the suggestion.

That's fair enough, and makes sense. Well, sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck to you!

I would love to see a Sun Titan in here Just for the abuse with Lilliana and the fetch/destroy lands... but I couldn't see what u would want to take out for it lol.

Oh and what do you think of using the anthem that gives creature tokens +1/+1 and vigilance in replace of the talisman? I can't seem to think of the name at all though... lol

Now that I'm running Lingering Souls Intangible Virtue seems more viable, but then I'm just slowly slipping toward a b/w tokens deck, which this deck is not. I feel like Pristine Talisman is doing pretty great in this deck because it gives me minor life gain as well as helping me mana accelerate, meaning I can drop a Titan on turn 5 in most cases. I forgot that Sun Titan brings back any permanent, so I'd considering maybe running him as a one of, but at the moment Lili is the weak link among my walkers because she's not as adventitious as I'd like her to be because I have no card draw (don't really want to switch to Esper though, to be honest).

I haven't been playing standard in a while so I am not sure of the cards that are in it right now, but what would you need the Celestial Purge in your sideboard for that you can't handle with other cards you already have? I think you should try moving the Sever the Bloodline to the sideboard and +2 Intangible Virtue (while you not want to be a token deck but in reality pretty much it is a token control deck already) and try -1 Liliana of the Veil and +1 Sun Titan . See how it works out. I understand the Sever the Bloodline but I think it is more of a sideboard card and also really only a 1 of since u can cast it twice with flashback. Take my suggestions with a grain of salt though :P I am no pro... but I do like the deck so +1 from me!

Were you making that suggestion before or after I dropped to one Liliana of the Veil ? I'm trying out -1 Lili +1 card:Black Sun's Zenith because I'd like more board wipe. Celestial Purge hits black walkers (Lili and Sorin) as well as exiling card:Geralf's Messenger and any other undying creatures, and even though it's sorta niche, it also takes out Blood Artist without activating his ability. Also gives me more removal against [[Huntmaster of the Fells] as well as Inferno Titan , but I don't think that titan is run too much any more. I do like the idea of Sun Titan , though, but first I will be trying out -1 Gideon Jura + 1 Wurmcoil Engine , since I own the Engine and if I drop to 1 Lili then Titan is sorta useless besides thinning my deck of land.

You already have tons of removal for any creatures and as for the walkers you also still have Oblivion Ring . Also the titan may thin your deck but don't forget if you use it with Ghost Quarter You can get rid of all of their Kessigs or inkmoths or dual or any utility lands. Although it also gives them a land of whatever color they may want (I tend to use it if say u have 2 swamps and 1 plains and a quarter, tap all the colored land then quarter one swamp and find a plains. put it into play and tap it for that emergency DOJ if needed or any other situation like that) But yeah without her there isn't as much as a use for him... I forgot about those pesky undying creatures... lol Have you played this at FNM yet? if so how have you done?

I've been gathering the cards for paper play so far. But I've done a lot of testing on cockatrice, not that that's exactly the same considering the abysmal shuffling and all of the unorthodox decks on cockatrice.

I actually have yet to use that... Although I have been meaning to DL it... I keep forgetting to go search for it (or rather I am too lazy to lol)

The shop that I'd be taking this to is pretty heavily aggro last I recall, so that's why I was looking to try out the second BSZ.

If Day of Judgment doesn't get reprinted in M13 consider Divine Reckoning in it's place. (Also, if you need more mass removal there you go.)

Thanks for the suggestion, I was worrying about that. c:

Why Sorin, Lord of Innistrad ? All he does is make, boost, and take control of creatures, which the goal of the deck is to destroy? I mean, I get the lifegain, but DOJ knocks Sorin off his feet.

Believe it or not, as many board wipes as I have in here isn't enough. :P Also remember that his emblem(s) buff Gideon Jura in creature mode. It's just another way for me to stall really, as eventually I have to kill the opponent, unless I plan on decking him. And the Emblem also makes Grave Titan that much stronger, and Vapor Snag that much shittier against. It's also important to remember that his ultimate also takes control of planeswalkers, which can help in the control/super friends matchup.

Looks good, but I just don't think that you will have enough options mid-late game. Sure you can kill all of their creatures and whatnot but by this time how many card in hand? 1? 2? Sign in Blood should definitely help in M13 though.

June 14, 2012 2:48 a.m.

Yeah, I'm very much looking forward to Sign in Blood . When that comes out I might try something janky with Alter's reap as well. I can usually stall out until I draw a Grave Titan , a Wurmcoil Engine , a Gideon Jura or I just start ripping shit with Lingering Souls . I a lot of the time I stall, and spam board wipes mid game until I have a nice board control with my walkers, and then I'll start dropping flashbacks of Lingering Souls and my big creatures.

25 lands is very ambitious for no card selection/library manipulation...and 4 Evolving Wilds ? greedy greedy greedy...

June 17, 2012 3:54 a.m.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. I've been waffling between 24 and 25; however, I'm still not sure which I should run.

I like B/W Control a lot. 25 lands is pretty good for it because you're not looking for lands open for counters. It's basically control that for the most part you tap out on your turn when you need to. I would suggest Sun Titan though. I know he's rotating but you stil lhave a good 5 months or so (not exactly sure) and he can bring back a lot of your stuff... lil, o ring, talisman, land etc. Another thing is I would run less Evolving Wilds , maybe go down to 3 or even two. The reason I say this is you REALLY want to hit 6 lands on turn 6 (or even turn 5 with talisman) and having to play that and fetch a tapped land wouldn't be so nice. Other than that.... looks pretty solid to me. Only other thing I can say is Terminus is the best board sweeper as it removes everything no matter what it is. I would suggest testing with more of it.

+1!
