Just Tinkering Around...

Casual* Artifact

Auphelian

Honestly, this deck is just me messing around for a friend. He says he likes artifacts and says he mostly plays in a casual environment, so I told him I would write something up for him. Well, this is the shell of the fruits of my labors, since it's such a nutty deck. Because, get it? Nuts have shells?

I know you're trying real hard not to laugh.

Anyway, the basic concept of this deck involves can-tripping artifacts until you pull out a Tinker , which you then use to throw out a Blightsteel Colossus. Is it perfect? No, but that's okay. It's just the shell. Of the nut. Yes.

So, you have your free 'trips under the guise of the old baubles and the probe everyone hated seeing turn one back in Scar/Innistrad Standard. Then, you have a few of the pieces to Modern Eggs in here; artifacts you put down to draw cards and cutsie little things like that. Now, the only odd inclusion is a personal pet card of mine, Semblance Anvil.

The reason the anvil is in this deck is, as I'm sure anyone with more than one brain cell to rub together can figure out, because everything becomes a zero cost can trip. In this deck, that is hilarious. You can start doing stupid things, like using Tinker to look up another Semblance Anvil and tell your friends who don't play as much that you get mana for playing artifacts if they stack.

They don't, of course. I don't endorse doing this.

The win condition is the good-ol' Blightsteel badass himself. It's funny, because he reminds me of my friend. Not because he's an almighty indestructible hulking mass of infecting darksteel, but because he resembles it. Anyway, it's big and it can tear up the opponent's board, face, and reproductive system. Quite simple.

But what if he's in your hand, you say? You just went on a massive draw spree and didn't stack your cards right? The only thing that doesn't replace itself in your hand are lands and your win conditions. Just don't play any of those, go over your maximum hand size, and discard him at the end of the turn. He goes to the graveyard, right? NO. Back in the deck to Tinker right back out.

The only thing I am considering changing in the list is the inclusion of Thoughtcast. I have solitaire'd the list enough to find myself in the awkward situation with a bunch of Chromatic Star and baubles out that I wanted to crack them all and fill my hand back up, but wanting to throw out the Thoughtcast too. Of course, that's a pretty bad call, and I should just wait to use it later.

Either way, this is just a shell for mah brah. This one's fer ya, Iron. ;3
