Suggestion, Reconnaissance over Maze of Ith. Also, I'd love your input on my own Kaalia deck, its still in its nubile stages so ignore my mana for now, in the process of fixing it. Check it out on my profile

Thanks for the suggestion SirDancelot, however, the main reason Maze of Ith is in here is for stopping my opponents, and Reconnaissance doesn't do that.

Ah, very true. I play multiplayer EDH so forgive the ignorance :p I run my Kaalia deck so nobody can have board except for me with cards like Twilight Shepherd and Debtors' Knell (on my wish list) combo-ing with lots and lots of board wipes both sorcerous Terminus Wrath of God and creature based like Magister of Worth

Ya know, I like Kaalia because even though you and I have radically different budgets, We were both able to make decks of comparable strength. Kaalia is a 'Great Equalizer' as it were... Also, Angel, Demons, and Dragons are the best creature types...

Your deck is like the deck mine wants to be when I can afford it lol

Every time I look at your deck I cry a bit, you have so many good creature choices, I want to just swap all of mine out for yours bahaha.

Question though, why not run Stoneforge Mystic with all your swords? No room? I guess I'd probably take Blood Speaker over SFM, more replay utility

That's pretty much it. I only run 3 swords, and I don't think Stoneforge Mystic is worth it. Blood Speaker is a handy blocker, can be reused, and is in general a better fit for this deck I think.

The thing about Desolation Angel is that I can't pay the kicker cost if she's put onto the battlefield with Kaalia. So I get all my lands blown up and nobody else's. I thought about running her, but I just went with Armageddon because that's so much more fun.
Also, SirDancelot I didn't notice your post about my creature choices before lol but that is what this deck is intended to do. You want your opponent to Thoughtseize and go "holy shit I don't know what to get rid of it's all so goooood"

You're right about Desolation Angel. That was a terrible suggestion. Lol.
Why not use filter lands instead of nomad outpost and evolving wilds. I also don't see the need for reliquary tower and Vault of the Archangel. Ancient Tomb might help.
Dark Ritual might sound like a bad idea but with all the signets and possibly some filter lands in your deck, it might be worth trying.
I'd use Chromatic Lantern over the Ingot and strongly recommend using Blood Moon considering the number of non-basic lands being used in EDH.

I'd totally use the filter lands except I'm low on budget right now. Reliquary Tower is for Griselbrand, and Vault of the Archangel for pushing damage through. I'm trying to get the Evolving Wilds out, not sure why it's still in here lol.
I'll think about Dark Ritual, I'm not super fond of effects like that in EDH, but I'll try it and see. As for Blood Moon, it kinda wrecks a good half of my mana base so I'm a little hesitant to try it. Although Chromatic Lantern is good, the first ability isn't that good in this deck because I rarely hardcast my creatures, and the ones I do cast don't have intensive mana costs. In addition, my mana fixing is (in my opinion lol) good enough that I don't need the extra "all lands tap for everything" clause. The biggest reason Darksteel Ingot is in here is because it's indestructible.
Ancient Tomb is also rather expensive, and I don't particularly like to take damage every turn, especially for colorless mana. I thought about it, but perhaps not in this deck.

So you know, Griselbrand is Griselbanned right?
January 8, 2015 10:50 p.m.
Read the description. It isn't banned in Duel Deck Commander, also known as French. That had a special ban list which can be found in the description.
January 8, 2015 10:57 p.m.
If you are still looking to get rid of Ob why not Ob Nixilis, the Fallen lol
January 8, 2015 10:57 p.m.
Have you thought of Dragon Mage? A Wheel of Fortune every turn can help you dig to the stupid good stuff.

warpedcolor and TheDudeAbides, thank you for taking the time to read the description, in which I state that Griselbrand is not banned in duel commander.
Casey4321: I'm not really enthused about either Ob Nix. I think they're both overcosted and the Fallen doesn't even have flying.
vault: I thought about it, but I tend to often have good stuff in my hand, and I find him to be a bit overcosted. Thanks though!

Do you have any idea what sort of creature you are looking for ti fill the role?

I have no idea, I might test out the new dragon from FRF, and if she doesn't work out I might just replace him with a land.

Yup, Sol Ring is banned but not Griselbrand or Primeval Titan. French rules are weird like that

ThisIsBullshit says... #25
The decks in competitive duel commander are so much faster that it's hard to get out things like Griselbrand or Prime Time, especially since they banned most the good mana ramp.
ThisIsBullshit says... #1
I think I'm going to add it because of meta issues, I face a lot of search decks and there's a deck in my meta that wins with infinite turns.
