Do you feel Spirit Bonds is too slow? It may be beneficial if they hold you off till mid game. Jus a random thought I had riding down the highway.

Hm, I'm not sure if the 1/1s are worth it, and it may be too slow.

That possibility of indestructible though.

My only worry is they'll get field wiped, because my meta is somewhat rampant with field wipes of various kinds. Also, it's harder to stall out in duel commander, so I'm not sure how much good it would do.

But in response to a field wipe you may (provided you have the mana), make kaalia indestructible, or any creature you deem vital at the time. That's what I like about kaalia. You don't necessarily have to cast out creatures all the time and can save mana for stuff like that. It was a suggestion jus for games not as fast as you would like so I understand what you mean.

I might add it to sideboard in during multiplayer games but I don't think I'll mainboard it. Thanks for the suggestion though!

March 29, 2015 12:31 a.m.

My friend Colleen plays Kaalia, and her build is very similar but she has other ways of cheating out creatures like Quicksilver Amulet and Sneak Attack. Something to think about. Once again, solid list. I'd +1 again if I could

I had quicksilver in here, but I found that it was too slow in 1v1 and got blown up before I could activate it in multiplayer so I took it out.

I want to run Sneak Attack, but I'm poor and can't afford one

How about putting an It That Betrays pocket version your dragons? Tappedout dosent seem to have the yet, but how about Liliana, Heretical Healer \ Liliana, Defiant Necromancer , and i think i alredy suggested Thunderbreak Regent but anyways... dunno if i can help by suggesting those but i am happy with the progress of this deck. good luck

March 31, 2015 9:53 p.m.

Thunderbreak Regent is in here, I just forgot to update Tappedout.

I'm not super impressed with Liliana or any other planeswalker in this deck so far. The only one I might consider is Liliana of the Veil but even with her I'm on the fence.

Savage Ventmaw for your Aggravated Assault?

Waves of Aggression and Land Tax also sounds like a good idea here.

Pretty sure the rules police would throw ThisIsBullshit in jail if she tried casting Savage Ventmaw in this deck. Would be cool though!

March 31, 2015 10:18 p.m.

Yeah, Ventmaw has green in it so I can't use it. Makes me sad.

As for the other two, I'd like to add extra combat phase stuff but I'm not sure what to take out for it, and also it seems a bit "win-more". I considered Land Tax, but never included it for some reason. Any suggestions as to what to take out for it?

facepalm I completely forgot about the color identity thing. I suggested the same to a friend who has Xenagos for commander and thought it would work here as well. Sorry.

As for land tax, maybe replace the worst creature you have in the deck? The deck is already fine as it is. What cuts to make depends on which cards have the most marginal use, I guess. Chancellor of the Annex, Archfiend of Depravity and Blood Speaker?

March 31, 2015 11 p.m.

DeathChant17 says... #15

Blood Speaker has to much utility I believe. Archfiend of Depravity will shut down populate and weenie decks. My belief is Chancellor of the Annex is the most viable as by the time kaalia is cast, opponents will probably have 3 mana to pay the extra for counterspells played on kaalia.

April 1, 2015 12:24 a.m.

Hm, for some reason my comment didn't go through. I really like all three of those, Chancellor keeps people from shitting out spell after spell and the other two for reasons DeathChant said.

Can anyone explain (if possible) why changing Moltensteel Dragon for Moonveil Dragon instead of Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury as Whykurt said?

April 1, 2015 1:49 p.m.

That was an accident. I replaced Moltensteel a while ago but when I entered it into tappedout I accidenally deleted Moonveil instead, so I just changed it back. I'm not super excited about Kolaghan because although she's good, the lack of adding toughness is an issue when it comes to getting blocked and there are just better beat sticks out there.

April 1, 2015 2:01 p.m.

Forgot to mention I'm replacing Moonveil with Bloodgift Demon anyways.

Tariel, Reckoner of Souls is quite tanky and may have a great synergy with Archfiend of Depravity , Celestial Mantle could go in, but i dont see where ; Elixir of Immortality is quite cheap and can help with bad picks. Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon could help finish off faster since you can force more battle phases with oter cards, but the only problem is that without avacyn hes quite squishy (for a dragon, i mean)

breno1606 says... #21

Ok, but you said "I'm not super excited about Kolaghan because although she's good, the lack of adding toughness is an issue when it comes to getting blocked and there are just better beat sticks out there." but Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury is as though as Moonveil Dragon and you can pump more damage as you have Utvara Hellkite , Aurelia, the Warleader and Hellkite Charger

April 1, 2015 4:07 p.m.

Elixir doesn't do much, and Celestial Mantle is just way too much mana.

As I said, I'm taking Moonveil out because it's just not good enough, so I figure Kolaghan is the same way.

DragoLion says... #23

Have you thought about maybe running Bogardan Hellkite over Moonveil Dragon? The ETB trigger is nice with Kaalia.

April 6, 2015 2:32 p.m.

Moonveil Dragon will probably be replaced by Bloodgift Demon. I'm not super fond of Bogardan Hellkite because it's extremely hard to cast if I can't get Kaalia out (which happens more often than you might think)

If you are using this for Duel you NEED discard spells like Thoughtseize and Hymn. You might be a little creature heavy too.
