It depends on when he or she wants to do that.

@ifym: There's a reason Pact of Negation is $20. That cycle of spells is powerful, and you don't get many free kill spells to begin with.

@mcpilz: Basandra, Battle Seraph doesn't have any triggered abilities. She has a static ability that is always true. As soon as the game progresses to the combat phase, players cannot cast spells. Players can only begin casting spells again when the game progresses to another phase.

Angel of Serenity-->Remove any Blockers or get your cards back to your Hand for Kaalia.

I really like the deck, it's probably the best kaalia deck i've seen on T/O +1. There are a few things that I don't like though. Condemn seems bad, I know it's tuck effect, but much of the time it won't be able to hit the most important targets. Dismember and Snuff Out are much better options. Also, white akroma really isn't good enough to merit inclusion, as she is rather vanilla in her abilities, nothing that really alters the games. In her place, I'd probably add Iona, Shield of Emeria and/or Scourge of Kher Ridges . Scourge's first ability has quite a nice interaction with all your flyers. Lastly, I really don't like Steelshaper's Gift here with only one equipment. I think that you'd prefer either Mother of Runes or Swiftfoot Boots .

hay Blackhand. Thanks for the suggestions. Took out White akroma, put in the two cards you mentioned although i think iona is fairly unfair :P I have to see about the other cards.

Utvara Hellkite. Good if played off Kaalia early or late as he pumps out tokens each time he attacks. Amazing anytime

Sneak attack needs to find a way into this deck, you may also want to add some hand hate to disrupt decks that can kill kaalia and counter her

Utvara Hellkite is great, but i try to go for a little less cmc so i have to choose between him and Scourge of Kher Ridges who is also cmc 8 but works with my anti flyers taktic. hmm have to see how he works out.

Hey nice setup here! I can tell you from experience that Scourge works really well at board wiping but the Utvara changes the whole game very quickly. He is better hardcast, and has worked wonders with my quicksilver amulet.

I would suggest throwing Anger in there as well, since you don't have a lot of equipment it might be a good way to give everything Haste.

I would replace slaughter pact with something that exiles rather than destroys.

I would exchange Exotic Orchard for Cavern of Souls . You never know what colors they will be playing until its too late to take it out. With Cavern, Kaalia can't be countered. Or anything else you cast with it. And Hall of the Bandit Lord for Slayers' Stronghold . You could take out some basic lands and/or painlands for Cabal Coffers , Fetid Heath , Kor Haven , Rugged Prairie , Temple of the False God , Thespian's Stage , Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and/or Volrath's Stronghold . You could go with Anger or Urabrask the Hidden instead of Crimson Wisps . You can always kill Anger with a High Market , Scourge of Kher Ridges or something. I'd remove Talisman of Indulgence for a Land Tax or a Weathered Wayfarer . I'd replace Ryusei, the Falling Star and Yosei, the Morning Star since you have no sac outlit. Maybe put in Hellkite Charger (goes infinite with Sword of Feast and Famine ), Bogardan Hellkite , Mana-Charged Dragon or a Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon . You could always use skithirtyx a.k.a skittles with Sword of Feast and Famine while Gisela, Blade of Goldnight is out and hit someone for 12 poison counters. Or while Mycosynth Lattice is out hit someone with Hellkite Tyrant . But i'm getting ahead of myself. Instead of Night's Whisper and Sign in Blood you could go with Sensei's Divining Top and Scroll Rack . Maybe trade Faithless Looting for a Underworld Connections or the aforementioned Necropotence . Other things you might wanna try to fit in Chaos Warp , Stranglehold , Amulet of Vigor , Legion's Initiative , Boros Charm , and of course Sorin Markov . Another combo Dragon Tyrant or Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Tainted Strike Hope this helps.

Yes, it is.You should prolly go with Phyrexian Tower instead if you are gonna put a sac outlet in there. Just In case they also try to exile one of your creatures or tuck it.

I really don't like the kamigawa dragons in here, I think the deck can find better options that are less gimmicky. I also think you need a little enchantment/artifact hate in here. I personally like Wear / Tear and Seal of Cleansing , but that's just me.

This is really a great deck, so I dueled it against a couple of mine, and I thought I would add my input. IMO take out Strip Mine and Exotic Orchard add Molten Slagheap and Gemstone Caverns (this increases the chance you will play your commander a turn earlier) add Hellkite Charger to put more creatures into play and attack again, this is one of the best outlets for your mana. Hope this helps : D

well thanks mate, i have a few colorless lands, so cutting strip mine could def. help, didnt see it :) ill give Gemstone Caverns a try, see how it turns out.

I highly suggest Warstorm Surge with Kaalia decks because of the sheer number of large drops you get. Plus if you have an Utvara Hellkite out or Strionic Resonator it gets mean very quickly.

yeah but they all focus on kaalia so much, although Utvara Hellkite doesnt trigger the turn he enters. Warstorm Surge is another card which lets me loose the game against blue hexproof decks :(

They'll always focus on kaalia, but I threw some Swiftfoot Boots on the Utvara Hellkite to make him viable that turn. I would think Warstorm Surge would help against hexproof as it lets you do direct damage to the player while keeping a line of defense. Throw in either Aurelia, the Warleader , Hellkite Charger , or World at War + Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and it doesn't matter what creatures he has as long as you keep dumping big guys on the field for direct damage to him.

Charcoal Diamond , Fire Diamond , and Marble Diamond allow for a turn 3 Kaalia. You already have the signets but with these you'll be much faster.

Sire Of Insanity works great once you have board advantage to close down everything including control decks. Another fun one in this deck is Mimic Vat , as people like to destroy the creatures or they have awesome etb effects
