NinjaMorphs is a casual deck that keeps your opponent guessing if you morphed a willbender while you keep moving your morphs all over the game, casting them from every zone possible. I started off as an exploration of how many ways I can mess with morph, and grew into a pretty fun deck.

The deck wins via grinding out your opponents with Kadena’s draw trigger, killing the table through a Yuriko, bouncing your massive board while Vela is in play, or sneaking in a Phage and unmorphing her.

It’s one of my many fun BUG decks where I get to do all the things I like, I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Why play this deck?

• You like ninjas
• You like morphs
• You like saying “I morph a willbender” 30 times a game.
• You want to be a master of every zone in the game of Magic the Gathering. No where will be safe. You will be morphing in your opponent’s nightmares. They will be waking up screaming “NO, NOT WILLBENDER.” Your friends play cards with split-second, and you want to spit in their face because you’ll be too fast for the stack. Willbender bends all.
• You played Timespiral standard like me and played soggy pickles.

Avoid this deck if:

• You want to win in a very compact or linear fashion. This deck takes up half a room at least. You’ll need two playmats.
• You don’t like sneaky little fuckers that throw shurikens.
• You hate durdling.

Synergies

Ninjutsu + Morph + Kadena
Ninjutsu and Morph oddly compliment each other very well. Kadena gives you a free body to ninjutsu in, while the Ninjas can return a flipped willbender to re-morph and give you another draw trigger off the same card.

It solves one of the main weaknesses of Kadena. Kadena needs to constantly morph creatures in and fill your hand to keep the pressure up, having a ninja means you don’t need to pull every morph creature into your deck because each morph card can draw you a few cards.

Brine Elemental + Vesuvan Shapeshifter
A classic combo from Timespiral. With a face-up Brine Elemental + a Vesuvan Shapeshifter , you can unmorph shapeshifter to copy Brine Elemental’s ability on your turn, every turn. This will lock out your opponents by skipping their untap step.

Bounce
Bounce is a very powerful tool in this deck. Symmetrical bounce spells like Evacuation , Peel from Reality or Devastation Tide allow you to re-use all the powerful effects of the deck while slowing down your opponents. Notice how this deck does not run any dorks. All ninjas can be ninjutsu’ed in again, morph creatures can be morphed in again easily thanks to Kadena to grant you more draws and stack cheating effects.

If you have Vela the Night-Clad in play, the mass bounce spells can end up being a win-condition if your opponents life totals are low enough.

Flash
I assume everybody knows this already, but i’ll state it anyways. Flash + Kadena means you get to flash in a free morph each turn. That’s why Teferi, Vedalken Orrery , and Vivien, Champion of the Wilds is in the deck. But also take a look at Havengul Lich . Having Lich in play with one of our flash granting cards and Kadena means you can pay 1 to morph a creature from a graveyard each turn.

Phage
Phage is really important in this deck. Why? Because once your playgroup knows Phage is in your deck, every manifestation is terrifying. Yeah, you can hardcast Phage and give her unblockability to kill someone. But her main job in this deck is make your opponents sweat from Primordial Mist and Scroll of Fate .

You can also flash in Phage before your turn and poke someone to death.
