This decks works by inflicting a lot of damage onto opponents. This is done by the commander Kaervek the Merciless. Even if Kaervek is not out, it sometimes forces other players to discard cards, lose life or just general destruction (e.g. Damnation).

One of the best tactics, though, is to bring out Kaervek the Merciless with deathtouch.
