Kaladesh Orzov Taxes (Standard MTG Deck)

Combining Taxes like Thalia and Kambal with the powerful Walkers and hulk control to form a well knit together shield of control. Consul's Power and Thalia lock down agro creatures. Lilianna continues to keep creatures from attacking effectively. Kambal deters any counter control or burn strategy. Ob nix draw lots of gas while removing threats. A full set of Anguished Unmaking is off set by the life gain from sources as Consuls Authority, Noxious Gear Hulk, Kambal and Kalitas.

So I took this to FNM a few weeks ago, My local meta seemed high on the control and midrange match ups.

Round 1: Abzan Control 2-1

This was a near mirror match but there were some particular differences that made the match. Namely, I was carrying a full set of Anguished Unmaking that booted any PW strategy he implemented, and Blighted Fen was HUGE. in fact, Blighted Fen was a real MVP all night as nobody planned on a play set of them, and often forgot they were around and thus would attack into my 'supposedly' empty board. Also, great play was him playing Oblivion Sower into my Noxious Gearhulk: I needed the lands removed any way, blew up his bomb and then I gained 8 life!

Round 2: U/W Control 2-0

I blew this one out of the water. while he slowed me down with a lot of control magic, eventually I broke through with a walker or two and a Hulk. really not much happened this match up.

Round 3: Grixis Control 0-2

Combination of mana screw and strong plays crushed me in this round.

Round 4: Selesnya Tokens 1-2

Again the mana screw kept me on the back foot, also never saw any of my anti aggro toys, so it was simply me trying to remove tokens piecemeal, which didn't work out obviously. A clutch Fumigate did pull me back a game.
