Description

This is building off of the pre-constructed commander deck, Arcane Maelstrom, with upgrades totaling the deck's value around $499, according to TCGPlayer's market.

This is semi-competitive, with multiple win conditions.

The Shocking Winners

This deck mainly focuses on utilizing Kalamax's ability to be tapped, copy spells for value, and trigger "Magecraft" as much as possible.

Kalamax, the Stormsire

All hail Supreme Leader Dino. He can get real beefy due to the deck's frequent ability to copy spells. Hit players life points directly with your commander or use Chandra's Ignition to hit everyone all at once.

Kalamax Taps Out

• Cryptolith Rite: We tap Kalamax, the Stormsire and get a free mana that we can use in the instant that we want to copy with it's first ability. Also, thanks to the bunch of token generators that we run in our deck, we can pump great spells that we will use as game finishers.

• Springleaf Drum: Single target Cryptolith Rite.

• Holdout Settlement, Survivors' Encampment: Land versions of Springleaf Drum.

• Cultivator's Caravan: A mana rock that allows crewing/tapping for free.

Ral, Storm Conduit

The viceroy has arrived. He can trigger his passive infinitely with the use of Increasing Vengeance, Narset's Reversal and Twincast and Kalamax's passive. Zap everyone for infinite damage.

Copy Machines

• Melek, Izzet Paragon: It let us cast instants and sorceries from the top of our library without having to draw them before being able to play them. Also, if we play a sorcery or instant from the top of our library with him in play, we will get a free copy of the spell.

• God-Eternal Kefnet: A 4/5 flying creature hard to remove that can make copies of our instants and sorceries that we draw at the beginning of our turn and reduces the cost of the copy by 2 mana.

• Primal Amulet  :If we decide to flip it, we will get a land that can copy our sorceries and instants if we spend the mana created by that land on the spell.

• Isochron Scepter: Once we imprint any instant of 2 CMC or less we will be able to repeat that spell more than once. Most of our instants are great options to copy because the copy can be copied by Kalamax, the Stormsire due to the imprinted spell copy being casted.

• Twinning Staff:A great two in one card, it makes an additional copy when we copy a spell, and in case of need, it let us make a copy of a spell (but in this case we will need to pay 7 manas).

• Ral, Storm Conduit: -2 ability gives extra copies of an instant or sorcery.

• Invasion of Arcavios  : Takes some more setup. After winning the battle, you get an enchantment that copies instants and sorceries.

'Instant' Copies

• Mirrorpool: A land that in case of need we can sacrifice to copy any instant or sorcery that we cast. We can also use it to copy any creature that we have in play, but mainly we would be copying instants or sorceries.

• Increasing Vengeance, Narset's Reversal, Twincast: Instant copies.

• Expansion / Explosion: Another copy spell but 'Explosion' offers an alternative.

• Repeated Reverberation: A good setup for a cascade of spells, or another infinite combo trigger.

"Magecraft" Triggers

• Talrand, Sky Summoner: Cast only. 2/2 blue drake with flying.

• Young Pyromancer: Cast only. 1/1 red elemental.

• Storm-Kiln Artist: Copy instants, copy mana?

• Archmage Emeritus: Copy instants, copy cards? No, just draw one.
