st Match - Vampires; The first game was all about to much control for my opponent to handle. Dark-Dwellers are freaking amazing. Second game was horrible for me. I mana flooded from turn two through 6 while holding three lands in my hand. Yea I kept a 5 land hand with only one removal spell. He opened with a third turn Olivia, Mobilized for war into a Drana, Liberator of Malakir. He discarded giving Drana haste and attacking for 4. I was dead on his 7th turn. The third game was interesting as we both went back and forth but this was the reason I put Reality Smasher in this game. He can ultimately out grind anyone. Especially when they can't keep cards in their hand or a on the board. 2-1
nd Match - B/W Control; Without drawing any form of hand disruption this match up is long a daunting. He draws an Ob Nixilis which I couldn't handle the Emblem and ultimately lose to drawing a card. Sideboard time and this match up can get a lot better for me. Second game I opened with a Duress and followed with two Transgress the Minds. This left my opponent no hand and he drew into two lands in a row while I was smashing face with Reality Smasher. Third game was long and it went back and forth. and was one of those games that every magic player loves having. The game doesn't go one way or another just back and forth. It was extremely fun...However Goblin Dark-Dwellers and Reality Smasher are amazing when they give you far more resources than your opponent can draw. Returning and replaying cards won me the third game. 2-1
rd Match - Humans: Game 1 and 2 = Languish! Enough said! 2-0
th Match - Boros Allies?; My Opponents deck is extremely fast and Captains Claws were crazy good and the best I have seen it being played. However removal over and over again can just be to daunting for an aggro deck and creating tons of zombies is just over whelming. 2-0
-0 on the day for the first run. I misplayed a few times but they were recoverable mistakes. After this I am thinking about changing my sideboard to combat against specific things that I didn't think were going to be an issue. I will be posting those changes here in the next few days. However, one thing that bothered me here was how ineffective Chandra, Flamecaller was when I drew. I drew into her three times and she was only good once against a handless B/W match. The other times she felt flat and I am now wondering if she was just overlooked and our data skewed when testing with her. We will be looking more into this.
