Reminisce for mirror matches and shuffling used spells back in to basically hold your own?

Wouldn't the lens be better with snow lands?

It would. I just love the full art zendikar islands too much! It's also never actually hurt me, so maybe it will soon and that'll inspire me to change them.

Snow lands also give you access to Scrying Sheets. I run a Kami tiny leaders deck as well, though I opted for a slightly different approach. Mill by drawing out. It's a ton of fun, feel free to check it out: Draw Em Out.

Some cards I would highly suggest after much use are Counterspell, Cyclonic Rift, Daze, Disrupting Shoal, Mental Misstep, Repeal, Spell Snare, Mesmeric Orb, Elixir of Immortality, Dakra Mystic and Jace Beleren.

I find it more effective to control the game and force the opponent to mill passively then to spend all my mana on mill and hope they don't kill me before I can mill them out. Mill is like burn but slower, so I balance out that slowness with control which seems to help a lot.

Thanks for the comment Saljen, your deck looks really cool. I made this deck mostly because I wanted to try and make storm work in tiny leaders as well as possible and Brain Freeze seemed like the best card to do that with. Adopting a more controlling approach might actually make the deck better but it dilutes the combo with counterspells that I am never happy to draw when I try to "go off"

Uhuhuh, True Name? True-Name Nemesis is a stupid good card. Why wouldn't you run it?

I'm building a Sygg deck, I'll have the list posted on Sunday(?) hopefully. True-Names going straight in. Same with another good card for this deck called Sensei's Divining Top. That card is great to get storm triggers as well as find brainfreeze. For storm:

sensei find cantrip, sensei draw cantrip, cast cantrip, cast top, repeat. 2 mana total for 2 storm.

Remand, Remand your own Brain Freeze and recast it for 2x storm +1

Extraplanar Lens would be better if teamed up with Snow-Covered Island so you don't give your opponent a helping hand, unless they as well run those lands. Another Tutor could also be Personal Tutor to fetch out Sorceries as well. +1 Overall.

Thanks charliedastrike and ninjaman16782! I don't use snow islands even though they're better mainly because I like the full-art zendikar islands too much and its never actually hurt me. I'm actually not positive about keeping the lens in. Personal Tutor seems great and I've just overlooked it. It'll make the deck more consistent! I do have Merchant Scroll in now. The problem with Reliquary Tower is islands are incredibly important in the deck due to High Tide and the heavy blue mana cost requirement. The negatives of a colorless land almost always outweigh the few cards I don't have to discard, especially because the turn I draw the most cards, I usually win.

I don't blame you about the full arts, I really like them too. They need to make more full art lands, it makes more sense and here is to hoping in the Battle of Zendikar.

definitely! I also replaced the lens with personal tutor which lets me go personal tutor --> merchant scroll --> high tide

Maybe add Twincast to double your Brain Freeze and make it even more deadly. Or help if you play with more than one person.

@ Grantley91 storm only triggers when cast. so copy effects are pretty bad with Brain Freeze

Grantley91 says... #21

Well I know it wouldn't add to the combo but if you already had a 5 or 6 Storm added up a Twincast would essentially make it 10 or 12, respectively.

Thanks for the suggestion Grantley91, i actually used to have Twincast in the deck but replaced it with Remand. Remand kind of does the same thing if you cast it on your Brain Freeze but it has the added utility of being able to counter a spell if need be. I don't think I really need 2 of these effects as doubling the storm count is usually just overkill

Maybe just a SB option then in case you play a multiplayer game? If you ever do that sort of thing that is.
