Thirst for Knowledge and Thoughtcast are both better than Concentrate . I'd consider running better control cards than the frog stuff. You have access to 4x Lightning Bolt . Also I'd add one of the big hitters (Blightsteel Colossus , Platinum Angel , etc.). I like that you're taking a different angle to the whole artifact thing.

Love the concept! Wouldn't it be better to use Thirst for Knowledge instead of Concentrate though? I know it sucks you must discard an artifact card, but I think it's worth for the -1 cmc and instant speed.

I debated Thirst for Knowledge over Thoughtcast but I decided on Thoughtcast for it's almost certainly cheaper casting cost. I don't see why instant speed is more important when you're just drawing cards. Plus, like you said, you have to discard an artifact.

Well, it's always better to be able to cast it on your opponent's turn. That way you can keep your lands untapped for your another instants if he casts anything that has to be immediately dealt with. If he doesn't, then you can cast Thirst for Knowledge without having to worry about not having enough mana to cast any responses.That means you basically start your next turn with 4 new cards in your hand and all your mana at your disposal.
But it's just a suggestion of course. If Thoughtcast works better for you in this deck, keep it the way it is.:)
