You should forget maybe adding back to nature and pick yourself up a Bane of Progress. Not only is it mass destruction creature he's also recurrable with Reveillark.
October 13, 2015 3:27 p.m.
Yeah, Bane of Progress seems like it's pretty good.
Should I really drop Crucible of Worlds? I've had that suggested in the past but it seems hard to justify removing it in a deck where I have so many fetches and ways to dump cards to my gy.

I feel Crucible of Worlds is really worth keeping. Unless there is something that you absolutely need, and you feel ok about just dropping you lands in the GY where the only way to get them back is with Life from the Loam... if you even have that. I feel that leaving this card out can leave you in a mana hole sometimes, especially if you can only get them once a turn while skipping your draw with life.

Sun titan can also get them back, but i like crucible in here

how about Evolutionary Leap instead of Foster? get's earlier on the board and you can decide when the creature dies.
October 19, 2015 10:56 a.m.
Hmm, that does make sense. I do like leap, so that seems like a good change to make.
October 19, 2015 2:43 p.m.
Like infinite combos?
The only one I can think of in here is Sun Titan and Saffi Eriksdotter with Phyrexian Arena for infinite mana. I don't have an out for it though, as I don't go infinite in my decks.

I've been looking for an EDH deck to play and the idea behind this is exactly what I've been looking for! Thanks for the ideas!

Thoughts on including Meren of Clan Nel Toth?
December 21, 2015 12:49 a.m.
I like Shriekmaw, and second the recommendation for Meren of Clan Nel Toth.
January 1, 2016 7:52 p.m.
Reviewing this deck list, I too like Shriekmaw and Meren of Clan Nel Toth but which cards would you remove to include one or both... and why?
As with most of my decks, I find cards I want to include, but finding what to remove is much more difficult.

Thoughts on the following:
Dredge Cards: (Shouldn't you play from the GY?)Personally I'd swear by Life from the Loam
Possibly:Golgari Grave-TrollStinkweed Imp
Replace Riftsweeper with Pull from Eternity(OR Living Wish OR Glittering Wish).
Eternity is far superior to riftsweeper because Eternity + Karador reads "Recast an exiled creature card for its cost plus 1 additional mana".
Also It can target any card so it also combos Like: Eternity + Eternal witness reads "For 4 mana return any exiled card to your hand"
Also it's an instant!! So in addition to being an extremely versatile & extremely efficient retrieval, it can be used in more interesting ways. For example - let's say you have Sheoldred in play. Somebody FINALLY manages to exile your Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. Before the beginning of your upkeep resolves play Eternity > bring back with Sheoldred.
Lastly. Speaking of versitility, You can cast it on other players. So lets say you're against another player with who's Elesh just got exiled and you concluded that Elesh norn was actually protecting you more in play than out. You can Put it back into their graveyard and play Puppeteer Clique.
In short Pull from Eternity >>>>>>>> Riftsweeper
Think of Riftsweaper as reading "Pay 2 mana to return something to your library, pay x mana to waste a tutor to return something to your hand which you still need to pay y mana to recast"
The ONLY upside to Riftsweaper is that it's slightly easier to tutor a creature than an instant. But again is that really an upside when you could have tutored a completely new strategy? I don't think so.
Thoughts on Gaddock Teeg?Oh you wanna wrath my board with really expensive shit? Denied!Oh you have Insurrection?? Aww too bad.
On a serious note: When playing against any kind of spellslinger - simply delaying them by a single turn can mean the difference between victory and defeat. Something worth noting is that even if Mizzix is in play with 100 counters on experience, Gaddock's effect will prevent all with cmc > 4 as His effect is given priority over any cost reduction effects. (Also note that this works the other way too. You can't make a 3cmc card more expensive with another effect and block it with gaddock although they'll still be required to pay that extra tax)
Thoughts on Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite ?Hi Prosh!! No Kobolds for you! Hi Mizzix! Bye Mizzix!!Hi Ezuri!! What happened to your knee? Is that an arrow I see???
On a serious note - If the only thing she could do was place -2/-2 on enemies I'd still love her. On top of that by simply dredging her any token spammer will instantly be thinking defensively. She can deal with tokens VERY nicely. On top of that - +2/+2 to all my creatures. She is quite litterally sex on a stick
Thoughts on Meren of Clan Nel Toth Double trouble with half the hassle of Commander Hate
On a serious note:I highly recommend Meren too. Problem I have with Meren as commander is she's a top priority focus. In my playgroup when I play meren she's been forced into commander zone 2-3 times more than any other player. With karador the problem is far less worrying because you can always keep him at around 3-4 cmc. With Karador as commander people are forced, not only to deal with Karador himself, but also Meren. When you consider that Karador can keep meren in play constantly and that Karador get's the added benefit of white....

Also Stonecloaker offers some very versatile play. Might be worth having on sideboard if you're against spellslingers as Karador will often be highest priority for their style of play.
January 28, 2016 8:56 a.m.
With all these ETB creatures, have you considered Blade of Selves? Each of the tokens trigger ETB effects.
February 8, 2016 8:59 p.m.
Stonecloaker is pretty interesting. I'll add it up to the Maybeboard and see what I could cut for it.
Blade of Selves is really, really cool. I don't have a copy though, so I'll have to wait.

Ever consider playing Survival of the Fittest? Can be great if you need to on-demand tutor a creature card out of your library, and with Karador your graveyard is basically an extension of your hand anyway, so discarding a card is no loss.I'm working on a similar Karador deck which is more combo-heavy, so I guess it's more useful to me because I need to pull up combo pieces, but I still think it could be useful here.

Ever heard of Maralen of the Mornsong or Captain Sisay?
April 16, 2016 2:29 a.m.
I have used both as commanders in years passed. While Sissay would be an interesting option, what purpose would Maralen have in the deck?
Survival of the fittest is one of those cards that I really need a copy of but just never had the chance to get one. Same with Greater Good.

Hows life without Life from the Loam? I have it in my build and I have to say that I have never been satisfied with it.
Additionally, I saw Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite in the side board, and I would almost recommend it over Craterhoof Behemoth (or both if you had a card to cut other than that.)
Yeah but elesh norn can take over games all by herself, and she's really strong at any point in the game, a solid early turn reanimate, a great late game finisher, good damage control, good blocker, etc.
April 19, 2016 3:04 p.m.
I like your points about Elesh Norn. She is pretty strong, but I don't think I can cut the Behemoth, as he's my main win-con.
I had cut Life from the Loam a while ago because I never felt like it was worth dredging it back up or using it. The only land that people really hate on in here is Diamond Valley, and it doesn't even get destroyed that much any more.

What about Duneblast seeing as you already have wrath, and several other sweepers, including magister of worth. That way, you keep hoof and have norn too.
April 20, 2016 12:36 a.m.
Seems like a good enough swap. I like Duneblast for its ability to keep Karador on the field, but after a board wipe he's usually really cheap anyways.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Eternal Witness and Buried Alive makes for 6 creatures in the grave assuming you cast BA before it went there. and Eternal Witness is not only recurrable by Karador but by Sun titan.
also, 3 creatures in the grave is better than one and a 3/3 every time
