Hey lotus I forgot to mention one card that I like because he can grab lands and has his own sac outlet. Yavimaya Elder

I had Yavimaya Elder in the deck a while ago and took him out due to not wanting to run out of basics for Hermit Druid.

Hey Lotus, you might not remember me since it's been a while since you commented on my deck, but I play a pretty nasty Karador hatebears and combo list (HATE FOR EVERYONE! (Except me, obviously)). I'd just like to take a moment offer my two cents:

Firstly, there's a serious hole in the four-drop department, which is a travesty since one of them is Birthing Pod, a card that thrives on a beautiful curve. Two good value four drops I would consider adding are Meren of Clan Nel Toth to keep bringing back your multitudinous horde of value creatures, and Disciple of Bolas which has potential to completely change the pace of games with the life gain and card draw.

Cards that I could see being cut are, sadly, both of your 8 drops, Ashen Rider and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger. I've never really seen much success with Ashen Rider, mostly because its a huge amount of mana to be paying for the effect. Sure it exiles, but 8 mana? Anguished Unmaking costs 3 and a mere 3 life, which is a much easier pill to swallow in my opinion. As a former mono-green ramp player, I have a massive soft spot for Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, but if your meta is anything like mine, he doesn't make it around the table for you to take advantage of him 99% of the time. The card slot is, once again, in my opinion, better suited to something that still generates value, but doesn't paint a target on its own or your back.

Secondly, I'm quite surprised by the lack of combo in your deck. I understand that your meta doesn't care for it, but I will share my personal experiences with you. I was the first player to introduce combo into my playgroup via Ghave, Guru of Spores. My friends didn't care for me winning by combo so frequently, but they eventually realized that they had to fight combo with combo, thus beginning the competitive arms race.

Tl;dr, if you add combo, others will deal with it and add it to compete.

I apologize if i sounded a bit snarky or overly critical at parts. I tend to get passionate about Commander.

In closing, this deck looks SUPER fun to play and I'll have to consider some of your inclusions in my own deck!

Oh my, I didn't even notice that you don't have Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat in the deck. I believe that one or both of them should be in every black Commander deck. They can create a tremendous amount of pressure over the course of the game and double as a win condition.

bbr15 I would like to mention that ashen rider has done tremendous work for me. Not to discount your comment entirely, because you've given great advice. But ashen rider is a reliable way to get rid of the board, especially paired with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. One big caveat about Anguished Unmaking is that it isn't very repeatable. there are several ways to cheat out creatures like Ashen Rider, especially in decks like this.

I'd also only run one version of Blood Artist because you have ways to tutor it out of the library, and you could save space for your other cards

As for my own suggestion, I'd add Living Plane because it wins with elesh norn. However, if that's out of your budget, Natural Affinity is a 50c version of that card. I would take out Golgari Grave-Troll because your goal shouldn't be to fill your yard with creatures. It should use the graveyard as a way to vomit creatures onto the board. This means that the troll won't hold much value other than the dredge, and that doesn't really cut it if you're wanting this to be a cut-throat deck.

In order to reliably make use of Birthing Pod, perhaps you should consider to include a couple more 4-drops. Some suggestions that work great for me with Karador are Solemn Simulacrum, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Disciple of Bolas and perhaps even Felidar Guardian.

I highly recommend using Liliana, Heretical Healer in any Karador deck. Especially one's that use Dredge cards. Her flip is very easy to trigger, all 3 abilities she has are perfect for Karador, and because she is a creature, if she is killed, she comes back over and over. Nothing quite like a Planeswalker than never disappears.

How have Altar of Dementia and Eldritch Evolution performed for you? They were cards I was looking at for my Karador deck that you helped out by commenting on a while back (the deck has changed quite a bit since then) but I just wasn't sure if they were worth lowering the creature count for.

Altar of Dementia and Eldritch Evolution are both great cards, altar serves the dual purpose of milling yourself to fuel your engine, and milling your opponent in a combo, and eldritch is a solid tutor.

wow this was certainly and old deck I ran into, I was mildy interested in rebuilding this deck, however I ended up taking it apart due it being too much for my group to handle. I ended up with boonweaver combo added with everything else and the deck was pretty sweet. ahhhh memories
