This Karametra Deck is an extremely fast and competitive commander deck built upon a Legacy Enchantress draw engine shell. The original deck that this deck evolved from was designed and piloted by Melissa DeTora on Episode 5 of game knights.

Main Strategy

Casting enchantments, drawing cards, converting enchantments into creatures, and win through attacking with our enchantment creatures.

Enchantments

We use enchantments for everything we can, mana ramp is through enchantments, targeted removal is through enchantments, board wipes are done through enchantments, our board is protected by enchantments. We prevent being attacked, losing life, and being targeted all via enchantments. If there is one answer in this deck it is enchantments.

Enchantment themed:

• Our commander, Karametra, God of Harvests lets us search for a land every time we cast a creature
• Some low mana cost enchantments are used instead of signets to work with our artifact hate sub-theme including Abundance, Abundant Growth, Awakening Zone, and Wild Growth
• Burgeoning is a super way to ramp allowing you to play a land anytime an opponent plays one
• Rites of Flourishing allows you to play two lands per turn
• Herald of the Pantheon lowers the cost of our enchantments by one

Draw Engine

This deck runs an extremely powerful card draw engine. It is very common to be able to play out and entire hand of cards, draw that many cards again, play that hand out, and do it again in a single turn.

• The main strategy of the draw engine is to use cards like Enchantress's Presence, Verduran Enchantress, Argothian Enchantress, Mesa Enchantress, Eidolon of Blossoms to draw a card whenever an enchantment is played. With roughly 45 enchantments in this deck you will be drawing a ton of cards
• Rites of Flourishing lets you and you opponents draw an additional card each turn. With our aggressive mana ramp and card draw, we will be able to use the card draw far better than our opponents
• Abundance and Kruphix's Insight provide card filtering
• Recycle is a really fun card that allows you to draw a card every time you play a card. Use with caution as you may mill yourself. The ideal way to play this card is to play Reliquary Tower after it to return your max hand size to unlimited.

Targeted Removal

• We primarily use enchantments to target our opponent’s items. Doing so keeps our draw engine pumping. Where possible the card selections target permanents rather than specific types. Cards in this section include:
• Darksteel Mutation, Grasp of Fate, Quarantine Field, Song of the Dryads, Seal of Cleansing, Recumbent Bliss, Faith's Fetters
• Nevermore - It’s kind of mean, but you card name a players commander to prevent them from ever casting it.
• Aura Shards - Provides repetitive removal that fits into our enchantment strategy

Board Wipes

• The deck doesn’t have board wipes outside of Quarantine Field. Instead the deck packs targeted removal and rely’s on it’s defensive capabilities and targeted removal.

Creatures & Combat Interaction

The deck doesn’t concern itself with playing creatures in the early game. In the initial phase of the game it relies on the pillow fort strategy in the deck to prevent from being attacked. The creatures that are packed in the deck are in the following categories:

• Defense of the Heart - Lets us tutor two cards and put them on the battlefield. Our typical tutors are Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Sigarda, Heron's Grace to make our entire board indestructible and give us hexproof. Once these are in place it is extremely difficult for anyone to remove our creatures

• Enchantress Creatures - Draw Engine

• Indestructible Gods - Several indestructible Gods are in the deck. Ajani's Chosen, Heliod, God of the Sun, Nylea, God of the Hunt, Sigarda, Heron's Grace, Rhonas the Indomitable

• Aegis of the Gods - Gives us hexproof

• Avacyn, Angel of Hope - Gives our entire board indestructible

• Dragonlord Dromoka - Prevents blue decks from countering our spells

• Eternal Witness - Provides graveyard recursion in enchantment form

• Ethereal Armor, Ancestral Mask gives our creature either +1/+1 or +2/+2 for each enchantment

• Sigil of the Empty Throne and Ajani's Chosen - Gives us Angel and cat tokens whenever we cast an enchantment

Later in the game we will use Starfield of Nix or Opalescence to make all of our enchantments creatures. Combined with Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Sterling Grove they are all indestructible creatures with shroud. In the case of a creature effecting board wipe that may get through our mostly impenetrable board state Seal of Cleansing can allow us to destroy Starfield of Nix to make our enchantments no longer creatures

Pillow Fort Strategy

The deck does a good job of making it very difficult to attack us or if you do to do any significant impact to our life total.

• Ghostly Prison, Island Sanctuary, Sphere of Safety, Elephant Grass, and Crackdown - Deinsentivize attacking us

• Soul Snare - Allows us to exile any creature attacking us

• Authority of the Consuls - Ensures our opponent’s creatures entered tapped and gains us life

• Stony Silence - Our artifact hate card, shuts down all artifact abilities. Our lack of artifacts keeps our deck running while shutting down our opponents signets, equipment, etc

• Worship, Righteous Aura, Island Sanctuary and Solitary Confinement - Prevent life loss

• High Ground - lets each creature we control block 2 opponent creatures

• Open the Vaults - lets us recover if somehow our entire board gets wiped out

Protecting Board State

• Karmic Justice
• Pariah
• Gift of Immortality - Allows us to effectively make any creature indestructible, This is really useful to ensure our enchantress cards stick around if we get an early board wipe
