Ten years before the Gatewatch, the feudal plane of Ossetia was nearly devoid of mana and magic, until a young girl named Karina's spark ignited and she was thrust into the Multiverse to discover what magic truly was. From Ravnica's undercity to bountiful Zendikar, from Lorwyn's hidden Glen Elendra to Innistrad's backwoods Kessig, from the temples of Theros to the monasteries of Tarkir, from frozen Edross to desolate Tarmont, Karina gathered allies and learned new spells. But her truest talent lay in luck magic, which blossomed into clockworking, the ability to manipulate possible futures.

Karina heralded the return of magic on her home plane and was deemed the Warden of Ossetia, charged with keeping the balance between the mundane human realms and the fantastical magical creatures. Though she takes her job seriously, she's still a wanderer at heart, and seeks to improve herself with all the planes as her guide.
