I originally thought this could be a cute control deck... then realize this could be a quick Voltron deck, so that's the build I have adjusted to. Small like gain + protection and start beating. Karlov can grow very quickly with a good starting hand.

The amount of life isn't important, only the trigger. So cards like Alhammarret's Archive and things of that nature are not necessary. I've tried to make the gain consistent, so artifacts that gain a life when colored spells are cast are not in. (i.e. Staff of Maguses). I've also tried to keep the CMC down because it's kind of an agro deck.
