If i get 2 mimics out before turn 5 i can swing for 15 damage when i play my smasher. Even one mimic, thats 10 damage. Mimics are strong. Besides i have enough removel to choke a herd of horses.

Have you considered adding white? I have been doing relatively well with my bw eldrazi ( 2-1 fnm, top 4 gameday ). With white you get cards like Anguished Unmaking ,Silkwrap and Stasis Snare / Declaration in Stone.

I have considered it but I like where my deck is right now. Its gone 3-1 for the past 2 fnms, and took third two weeks ago.

Drakemagic15 i agree with this guy that Eldrazi Mimic is probably not that good but i think it's better than Thraben Gargoyle  Flip.

Eldrazi Mimic is great in mono black. When you can put him out turn two, then scale into 3 damage turn 3 (turns into matter reshaper), then 7 fourth (Matter Reshaper + mimic with pt of thought-knot), then 17 damage turn 5 (Reality Smasher. Thought-Knot, Matter Reshaper, Mimic with PT of 5) it is stronk if you get it off. It's not a bad card at all. Because he isn't playing different colors then his options aren't many and is extremely viable.

Exactly mack10k. I get two normally before i play a seer or smasher so it gets out of control fast.

Endless one or Hangarback are the better option in my opinion... not trying to upset you but Mimic is just kinda plain...

Im not upset. I have tried both in the past and both were underwhelming.

I don't really get why you have an Evolving Wilds when you only have Swamp for basic lands. I'd say either add a Wastes or cut it, as currently it's a pointless tapped land that will slow you down.

Also, I would try to find room for another Ruinous Path or Matter Reshaper, as you're a little low on three drops right now, making it harder to curve out. Maybe over Remorseless Punishment?

Finally, I would cut an Eldrazi Mimic for the 4th Bearer of Silence. A lot of decks have trouble answering a flyer, and it has more lategame utility.

Because i have a sideboard card that uses delirium. And thinning.

Pomppu22 says... #11

shepherdofire delirium is a valid point for the evolving wild but the thinning of the deck by 1 card is not that big of a deal

At this point in the Meta, 3x Transgress the Mind is almost mandatory. It helps against everything except Humans. I would main deck 3 and sb 3x Duress. Also there is no reason not to main deck 4x Thought-Knot Seer. Languish should be more of a SB card against weenie and aristocrats. Even then, Flaying Tendrils might be better to sb so it doesn't wipe your board so much. So with 3x Transgress and 4x Thought-knots, that is 7 hand hate with 3 more on your board. I would take out the 2 Languish main and 1 Remorseless Punishment.

May 21, 2016 11:23 a.m.

shepherdofire says... #13

So board out the languish and add in thought knots and transgresses? And no. Punishment is a one of.

May 21, 2016 12:11 p.m.

mack10k says... #14

Take out the Languish, Remorseless Punishment, and 1 Ruinous Path and put in 3 Transgress the Mind and one more Thought-Knot Seer.

I run into more aggro than control, hence removal over hand hate. And I get so many wins from Punishment that I will never take that out. Though id be welcome to take one languish and one path out for transgresses.

shepherdofire i love your build with mimic and resharper! My deck is very similar but i'm still debating to run Carrier Thrall or mimic and i just can't decide. Mimic i like for the great body and good against ultimate price! or Carrier Thrall for a good block and eventually get the token to play reality smasher on turn 4 or Thought-Knot Seer on turn 3 plus in the late game i can sac carrier thrall for kalitas to. All advice is welkom my deck is called Hand and Field Control.

I've been testing a solo copy of Remorseless Punishment in the sideboard of my monoblack eldrazi deck. How is yours doing?

June 3, 2016 12:02 p.m.

shepherdofire says... #18

DaftVaderMine has been doing well. It closes out many games when I have taken care of their board and exhausted their hand. I even copy it with Mirrorpool making it game or close to it. the best way to do it is set up their hand and board so they cant pay the alternate cost of sacing or discarding and then using it. if they have creatures on board and you dont want to use mana for other spells just full swing. they will trade or die. I like it as a singleton just because having a hard copy of two isnt good. I board mine out against mono white, rites, company, and bg crats because it doesnt do anything against them. The hardest part of using it is waiting for the right moment. Like bait a control deck that you know has a counter in hand by using another spell that they dont want to see but you can live with it being countered. Then they are down a card in hand and more than likely have nothing to counter it. Many of my opponents have been flabbergasted when i play this card for a clean finish. one dude actually started brewing a deck around it because of me beating him with it. lol.

Played this list last night. I like it. Grip of Desolation is the 5 cost spell I wanted as 2 opponents ramped into Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger with Mage-Ring Network

It's a stretch, but Brain in a Jar may work here.

June 4, 2016 11:31 a.m.

Edit- grip of desolation is a 6 cost card.

June 4, 2016 11:33 a.m.

shepherdofire says... #23

Grip was tested and the highest i want to go with mc is 5. And brain in the jar is not a card id use in a deck with 19 creature spells.

Agreed and followed your sideboard change.

Played fnm last night, only ten players went 2-1, finished second. Lost to white weenies. I didn't board correctly, he had good hands. Believe had I played better, could have been 3-0 night.

I boarded good against weenies at my fnm. Just kept a bad hand second game.
