feyn_do_alduin, most definitely. I play a lot of mono blue people and I'd love sideboards for them. And a palinchron when I play derevi people.

I'm considering Paradox Engine for this deck... what do you guys think about that card in a deck like this...

You only have 5 mana producing artifacts, and most of your combos are on field rather than casting from hand. I don't think it helps you.

March 13, 2017 2:38 p.m.

I didn't think it had to be cast from hand... ie. Isochron Scepter or Dualcaster Mage. But I see your point. I just thought it could be another infinite combo if I get any decent counterspell under isochron with a 2 mana producing artifact. Just idea brainstorming here...

If you want another combo piece I would throw in Impact Tremors because it makes he infinite blink combos lethal and it lets you get a little bit of reach for long games. However, I think you have enough interlocking combo pieces that more draw/filtering would be better than throw in a combo piece that does next to nothing by itself.

Very good points... Impulse is my next high priority acquisition. I have noticed in gameplay, if I land Keranos and a filter like top, Jace or Thassa, then the game definitely shifts in my favor. I absolutely love landing Future Sight with keranos and a filter. It's not an end the game combo but whoever I'm playing is gonna be really having a tough time. Lol I love playing this deck.

Disperse could be Into the Roilis there any space for Ponder, Preordain, or Treasure Cruise?

is Izzet Keyrune good enough? How many times has it turning into a creature mattered?could be a Coalition Relic instead?

if you want another combo, Helm of Awakening, top and future sight draw your deck

Desolate Lighthouse could do work

Thoughts on Trinket Mage? It grabs you a combo piece in Altar of the Brood, ramp in Sol Ring, and filtering in Sensei's Divining Top, but I don't know if its dead too often for you.

You could add more to the trinket mage package with artifact lands. Maybe Aether Spellbomb instead of vapor snag as well

Another option you could add is Sakashima the Impostor. It would let you double up your commander or any other creature in play as a copy, except with a different name to circumvent the legendary rule, plus it has an escape tool.

Thanks DarkSlate. Another solid suggestion. The next obvious question is what to take out. I've had this deck a long time and each pick has been carefully scrutinized. This will be tough.

June 28, 2017 5:20 p.m.

is Altar of the Brood nessary?

seems like Vapor Snag and Disperse could be upgraded. maybe Into the Roil, Snap, or Jilt?

do you really need Take Possession?

You have like 5 mana rocks, might be worth adding some. especially if you want to run 9 cards that cost more than 5.

has Spirebluff Canal been good? seems like if it's not early it's a guildgate

June 28, 2017 5:34 p.m.

All good questions, I'll try to take them in order... I have found altar to be necessary in pod matches and control matchups. Where opponents attempt to control the top card of their library with cards like Sensei's Divining Top. That mild disruption is enough value but it also allows for an alternative wincon when swinging in isn't an option once I've gone infinite.

Into the roil is a strictly better disperse. We've discussed that one before but I'm not sure how I feel about snap. Vapor Snag is still better to me, but perhaps in a derevi stacks matchup I could see the value.

Take Possession having split second has been a game changer. It's very versatile and at that casting cost it comes into play about the same time when there's a juicy thing to steal.

And Spirebluff Canal has been good to me so far. I don't mind it coming in tapped late game, and early game mana fixing is super value.

I hope I answered everything or atleast explained my logic. Of course in different circles different cards are better than others. But this build fairly versatile.

Take Possession? Too bad I didn't mention that to you sooner if you love it so much, yeah it is a beast, during a split second your opponents can lose everything they love and all that they need to win a game.

I suggest checking out my current iteration of my Izzet/Grixis deck, it's had a complete change over since and it's now become complete tier 1 with nothing at all that can stop me so far that I've known. Tap-Out Control? Since making my commander Jeleva, the deck doesn't need to use it's opponents weapons, instead I just need to take what they can provide in order to bring out my own game winning plays. More extra turns, more methods of casting such as snapcaster and mystical tutor makes this deck a design that has no bounds.

You and me enjoy the thrill to foil and perfect, I've certainly taken a new step into the unknown and hope what I've discovered will help you path your way into a new perspective on your own deck if you're keen.

I think the main differences between yours and mine is the casting cost and the worry of losing your weapons and ability to control your opponents. We've both faced these issues in different ways, however my only possible infinite combo is Dualcaster Mage for which is simply so synced with my take I would feel bad not to add it. My question would be, do you really think your deck will improve by trying to defend infinite combos your opponents could anticipate? And do you think you wouldn't be able to exceed limits by bringing yourself to a different perspective?

The competitive tag is for cedh decks. This deck (and Kerenos) have no viability in cEDH environments.

October 11, 2017 5:17 p.m.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. With all due respect, it competes just fine with tier 1 decks. I've kept mono blue combo decks at bay with this deck. I build decks with a goal in mind (whether or not it comes to fruition). This deck is meant to control until I'm ready to combo off. Keranos acts as small spot removal and card draw while I work on that.

But thanks for sharing your opinion.

Podkomorka Who are you to judge what is or isn't competitive? Your experience? The reality is this deck is competitive in the face of most cedh decks. If you want to argue this do it with facts, not your opinions.

I just feel as though the majority of the competitive edh community would recognize kerenos as an ok deck if the deck was competitive.

So excuse me if I'm a bit suspicious

Yoshi_Sama says... #21

Podkomorka This deck as well as my own do not care about their commanders as much as most cedh decks so it's very easy to assume the deck is a "keranos deck" rather then an Izzet deck.

Back to my point though, the competitive tag is not for cedh and if a player wants to use the tag you don't need to tell them they can't. This is based on your own assumption on what a competitive tag should be used for, I'm annoyed because you're clearly targeting the deck and without much feedback some players might be bullied into your opinions.

October 11, 2017 9:22 p.m.

Podkomorka says... #22

ok you're right, the tag doesnt mean it's only cedh viable. I shouldn't assume the deck is claiming something it's not just because of the competitive tag

October 12, 2017 12:35 a.m.

Yoshi_Sama says... #23

Podkomorka Your claim that this deck isn't cedh viable is just that, a claim. The fact is this deck is consistently tested against a wide range of decks in any variant of EDH/Commander which includes competitive edh. Look at the current assumed generals in tier 1 slots, they are slotted based on the commander of choice rather then the deck, with that can you honestly argue this deck isn't tier 1 simply by judging the commander? You can't and claiming this deck isn't cedh viable is based on ignorance. Why don't you actually finish a tier 1 deck yourself before judging others.

October 12, 2017 1:33 a.m. Edited.

Podkomorka says... #24

This isn't a claim based on the commander... If we take the commander out of the equation and just look at the deck, there's nothing great going for it. its just izzet colors with cedh staples...

October 12, 2017 1:36 a.m.

Podkomorka says... #25

And just looking at the 99, it's not optimized at all. No real cEDH deck has lands that come in tapped homie...
