Maybeboard

cards that might push the budget (of my playgroups rules): Emrakul, the Promised End, Mana Drain, Void Winnower, Snapcaster Mage, Temporal Manipulation, Damnation

this is my prized possession. my Kess EDH deck.

the idea is to get extra value from my spells by being able to cast them twice, and having easy graveyard access with my commander. self mill fills up my graveyard, effectively giving card advantage. the deck has many tutors to find answers when needed, and combo pieces (no infinites).

my main wincon is reanimating big creatures that have entered my graveyard (usually through tutors like Entomb or self-milling), and getting more chances to swing with big creatures with cards like Seize the Day, Twinflame, or just Temporal Manipulation

here’s a funky interaction I’ve found that is potentially devastating and kind of a pseudo wincon: using Ghastly Mimicry   to copy Lord Xander, the Collector will active the ETB and Death trigger on each of my turns by creating a token copy, and having it die to the legend rule. this works not only with Mirrorhall Mimic  , but also with other forms of copies like Twinflame.

i don't have many mana rocks, and only Grim Discovery can pull lands from my graveyard, so i've added some spells for mana ramp like Dark Ritual and Cabal Ritual to help. the ability to cast one of these ramp spells again from your graveyard the same turn to double up on mana gained is massive. i don't run many mana rocks as artifacts are tricky for how I’ve built this deck. there are very few ways for me to pull them out of my graveyard without fully building into it properly, and the focus of this deck is on instants and sorceries.

in the "maybeboard" section of the deck i have some good value cards that are worth considering. there's a lot of cards that could have fantastic interactions that i just haven't gotten round to messing with in my version of the deck. some maybe never will. but if you're inspired to build a similar deck, I recommend you try them out.

I usually wait to bring my commander out until i have some good targets in my graveyard. occasionally, it is worth it to let your commander go to the graveyard if you know you can reanimate her with a spell from your hand for cheaper.

ok that's all thanks :)
