So I love Odric, Lunarch Marshal. I always have. I have built a janky modern deck with him in it. It has always met with a modicum of success. I had never really thought of Odric as a commander because he is mono white. Everyone knows that mono white EDH decks suck. You add a ton of utility by adding in a second color...

However, there have been a few great mono-white (or colorless), keyword focused cards that have come out in the past 2 years. I am talking about cards like Danitha Capashen, Paragon, Adorned Pouncer, God-Eternal Oketra, Jhoira's Familiar, Zetalpa, Primal Dawn and Legion's Landing  . Overall, of our 77 non-plains cards, 20 of them have seen first printings in 2015 or later, including our Commander. This deck is only possible in the last couple of years, and only seems to get stronger with every expansion. Let me be clear, you are probably not winning an MTGO EDH Tournament with this deck, however, it is really fun to play, as the combinations of keywords can get silly, and can really piss off your tablemates.

So our esteemed Marshal Odric, Lunarch Marshal, shares any keywords your creatures have with every other creature in both you and your opponents combat steps. One of the coolest cards to compliment this card is Concerted Effort, which does the same thing, just on the upkeep phase of every other player. If you get the ability to tutor, using Enlightened Tutor or Plea for Guidance, bring out this guy.

For Mana, we are pretty limited using mono-white, however that does simplify your play, and keeps the price on the deck somewhat reasonable. Notable cards are Eiganjo Castle to keep your many Legends alive, Buried Ruin to give us artifacts back, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx because we have a serious devotion to White. For mana ramp, we have the obligatory Sol Ring, Knight of the White Orchid, Legion's Landing   and Land Tax.

The core of our deck is built around Creatures and Equipment, both with keywords. There are some great ones out there, and I am just going to cover some of the more interesting ones in the description. Some of my favorites in the deck are:

Danitha Capashen, Paragon – First Strike, Vigilance, Lifelink AND reduces my mana cost on Aura’s and Equipments for 3 mana…… HAHAHAHAHA, slap a Darksteel Plate on her and laugh your way to a victory.

Thalia, Heretic Cathar – First Strike and causes everybody else in the game with fancy lands to sloooooow down.

Lone Rider   – First Strike and Lifelink, gains trample and becomes a 4/4 if you gain 3 life on a turn (here is a hint, we run a white keyword deck, lifelink is like air to us)

Basilisk Collar – Deathtouch and Lifelink… oh you dirty bastard.

Quietus Spike – Causing opposing players to lose half their life, in an EDH game.

We also bring utility to the table with our three Walkers, Ajani Steadfast, look at the +1 loyalty ability, Gideon Blackblade, and Ajani, Caller of the Pride, hello ult. We also throw some other fun cards into the mix, like Mass Calcify, Martial Coup, a late game wincon, and Sigarda's Aid.

Upgrades if you have the $ are the swords, and also a Wurmcoil Engine. Overall this is a fun, unexpected deck, that given WOTC’s track record over the past few sets, should only get better with time.
