Really like the deck, just a few thoughts.

I would go more into the landfall theme. Lifegain doesn't win games, but card draw and mana ramp does.

Cards like Rampaging Baloths, Retreat to Coralhelm, and Trade Routes could all be great additions. If you add retreat, I would recommend putting in creatures that tap to put a land in play, like Walking Atlas, Sakura-Tribe Scout, and Llanowar Scout. With retreat and Simic Growth Chamber, this generates infinite draw, which is a good reason to add Laboratory Maniac.

Hope this helps!

Tatyova is extremely fun to pilot so good choice here.

You may wish to consider Horn of Greed as a redundancy for Tatyova just in case she gets repeatedly removed.

I highly recommend Scapeshift and Splendid Reclamation for massive landfall triggers.

Farseek, Nature's Lore, Skyshroud Claim, Harrow, Spoils of Victory, Rampant Growth, Crop Rotation, Tempt with Discovery, Journey of Discovery are all good ramp spells you can consider.

I made a similar deck but with a more Spellslinger focus:

Thanks IAmTheWraith

Love the idea of returning lands to your hand. I did thoroughly look through every card with landfall on the gatherer but I’ll revisit and do some tweaking. I’m used to playing 60 card casual and I think that when I’m brewing commander I need to remember that you get much more chance to play things like Rampaging Baloths

Thanks

You may want to include both Burgeoning and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds. This allows you to get a landfall trigger on every opponents turns when they play a land :>

Every time I try and suggest something, I fail to do it. It does strike me as odd Harrow and Fertilid aren't here though, they should be an auto-include. I want to suggest more but.. I can't. +1, Solid Tatyova Build.

2 cards that are amazing in Tatyova Storm Cauldron and Patron of the Moon. The cauldron has the added bonus of screwing opponents and because of how many lands you can play a turn plus the patron it doesn’t hurt you at all.

Ghost Town also works well with Burgeoning.

Yo! Have ya ever thought about running Crop Rotation ? Or running more utility lands like Mystic Sanctuary to reuse spells again?

Some additional cards that might help as well:

There is a lot of cards that can be added in! Tatyova is a hell of a commander to play! Also fetches would be super useful as it cantrips really hard. Hope that helps!

I agree with IAmTheWraith's comment about lifegain. Something like Lotus Cobra would be much better than Horizon Chimera , if you can afford to pick one up. Summer Bloom is another solid land drop card that I have found to be quite useful. If you really want to turn your playgroup on their heads, consider running Sunder .

Poly_raptor says... #10

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I did look at a lot of those when building it but unfortunately I couldn’t justify paying for them.thats over $125 on 10 cards :(

I agree that they would all be very good additions.

Horizon Chimera could be cut definitely and I do have a crop rotation so could swap those.

I’ll have a look at some of the cheaper the cards from M20 and Throne, I haven’t really looked at those sets in general tbh.

Elvish Reclaimer & Field of the Dead aren’t too expensive.

Summer Bloom is in the list Sunder looks interesting haha,

Oh how I hate Scimic decks, generating mana like hell :) But I must admit, they have their charm :) How is the Archmage Ascension working for you? I tried it in several decks and it didn't last enought to its tutor ability. Have you thought of Zendikar Resurgent and/or Nyxbloom Ancient to increase your even now insane mana pool? Good luck :)

Thank you for the upvote :)

I only put Archmage Ascension in recently, but I’ve decided to cut it for Force of Negation as I think you make a good point, it’ll get removed ASAP.

I did think about mana doublers but it generates so much mana that I’m not sure if it’s necessary, as they’re are pretty heavy cmc casting them may slow me down when I can just pay mana to get more mana with this deck. If that makes sense?

What about Harrow, Oracle of Mul Daya, Summer Bloom, Growth Spiral? Rites of Flourishing may be ok if you think reward outweighs the risk.

Thanks for the upvote and suggestions :)

Harrow - I do like but Dreamscape Artist lets me do it once per turn, with Seedborn Muse every turn.

Summer Bloom I was running but found it to only benefit me once, and it’s rare I’d get 3 lands in hand without being able to dump then anyway so I chose to cut that for the likes of Llanowar Scout as I can once again do this much more and they’re the same cmc.

Oracle of Mul Daya is on my list along with the likes of Scapeshift and Constant Mists but it’s just a bit too pricey all in one go haha.

Growth Spiral I had not thought about but would run that over Fatigue as that doesn’t work the way I wanted it to

Rites of Flourishing is tricky, I’m not sure if I like the benefit it gives to the board.

Nice deck.

A possible combo you could consider including would be Squirrel Nest and Earthcraft. It allows you to create an infinite tide of squirrel tokens, while Earthcraft is just a generally useful card even if you don't draw into the nest.

February 25, 2020 2:54 p.m.

Poly_raptor says... #16

That’s a fun combo, I do own a squirrel nest but earthcraft is A LOT of money, I do think it takes away from the theme of this deck as it just wants to slam lands down and generate card advantage.

However, I am building a green white token deck atm so I’ll definitely jot it down for that.

Thanks for the upvote

i am really don't expert about commander decks, what I can tell you ? is maybe focus about synergy, too many cards are very hard to handle, so don't try to waste useless cards, I mean focus about synergies and use a lot draw spell maybe?

Thanks for the upvote and comment :)

This deck is very focused on synergies:)

Sporemound + Life and Limb: draw your entire deck with your commander in play. Works well with Lab Man/Jace win cons. But you may need something to stop it with haha.

February 28, 2020 7:37 p.m.

Poly_raptor says... #20

That’s interesting, if you drew into Krosan Grip then you could use it on one of them, I’ll maybe board it for now. The main win con is just smash through with avenger of zendikar atm, don’t want to rely on too many infinite combos and the other infinite combo in here I can just choose to stop at any time. Definitely worth a thought though

Thanks!

I would suggest Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner. Although I know it's not land-based ramp, Kiora provides extra ramp especially with cards like Sol Ring, Lotus Field, and Simic Growth Chamber. Also, I see you don't play too many creatures with power 4 or greater, but I have had a lot of fun playing Rampaging Baloths alongside Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner. Lastly, have you considered Traverse the Outlands? This deck looks very fun to play!

March 7, 2020 6:01 p.m.

Poly_raptor says... #23

Traverse the Outlands does looks good, but would essentially replace another one of the big land drop slots, I wouldn’t add it in on top of the ones I already have.

What would you cut for Kiora? I see your points and think it could come in handy, but this list is currently at a point where I don’t want to cut anything from it haha.

Thank you for the comment and +1

ehorch says... #24

One card I would think about cutting would be Vinelasher Kudzu. I understand that it has the potential to get quite large with the landfall triggers but I have found that in EDH a big creature without evasion or trample is usually pretty simple for the opponents to chump or just remove when needed. Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner also allows you to untap cards like Sakura-Tribe Scout or Walking Atlas. That being said this deck does seem pretty optimized and you seem to be doing alright on ramp already.

As you can probably tell Kiora is just one of my favorite cards, I built a commander deck around her if you want to check it out Kiora Commander
