Well, this jumped up in popularity all of a sudden.

Since you're playing gifts, you should really have 3 different wrath effects so that you can gift for one in a pinch.

That is a good idea, and I could probably cut a Path for one, or maybe a Bolt.

Your mana base looks like it is going to kill you before your opponent gets a chance. I'd replace one, maybe two Hallowed Fountain with a Prairie Stream - there's a good chance that it'll come into play untapped with all the basics you're playing and you can still fetch it.I'd also cut one or two Arid Mesa in favour of one Sulfur Falls and maybe another man-land or a Vault of the Archangel to try to get back some of that life lost.

I had Sulfur Falls in here in an earlier build, but I was told to cut them. Maybe I'll add them back in though. I do like the idea of Prairie Stream, especially since I tend to fetch at EoT most of the time anyway. IDK if I want to add Vault, because then I need to add a black source to my mana base, and that would require a bit of a rework. Still it might be worth it. Thanks for the suggestions!

My bad on the Vault- completely overlooked the black element. Maybe a second Colonnade then?

I've added a couple of streams. I'll consider another Colonnade, though I'm going to see what the U/R Manland does before I decide whether to add a colon or that.

Well, I've seen the U//R manland and don't really care for it. I'll look for a space for a second Colonnade.

Nice deck, however I might be a tad biased as some of my favourite things are infinite combos and graveyard shenanigans...

I was wondering though, what are the other two cards that you grab with Gifts Ungiven? Also the main problem I see with this deck is that games two and three people will have wised up to your shenanigans and will put one piece in the yard and the other in your hand. The other thing is a lot of decks run Surgical Extraction type effects in the sideboard. What does your deck do about these?

That is a fair question to ask about Gifts, I see it often. However, you don't actually have to grab four cards with it, you can chose any number of cards up to four and let an opponent chose which of the ones you found to put into the bin. There's a ruling on Gatherer about this very scenario:

'12/1/2004: You can choose to find fewer than four cards if you want, but your opponent will still put two of those cards into your graveyard.'

On Surgical Extraction, Yes that is annoying, and I've lost to it a few times, but the nice thing is the deck doesn't really need the combo to win. I can generally just value out my opponent with Lightning Bolt and Snapcaster Mage attacks and win in a much more 'fair' sort of way.

Any black mana for rites?

nayrash5 says... #12

I put Unburial Rites into the graveyard with Gifts Ungiven, so I only need to have white mana to flash it back. Though it does suck when it gets stuck in my hand.

But... xD

Opponent choose 2 cards which will go to grave :)

So u need black mana.

January 30, 2016 3:24 p.m.

you can decide to only take 2 cards with gifts so that they have to go to the grave.

also i feel like you can remove the basic mountain from the list and replace it with a basic island or plains. If blood moon does resolve then having the basic mountain is useless unless you need it without losing life, which i don't find that you do often

what do you bring sword of light and shadow into? why does it deserve a spot?

I like Sword Light//Shadow for matches against removal heavy Aggro. Gaining three life and returning something like Jace for essentially free can be game winning in and of itself. There are probably other cards that could be in that slot, but I really like the Sword so I'm hesitant to remove it.
