Intro

Alt Text

At first, when I heard about the Khans clans, I was torn between playing Temur, Madru or Abzan. (Of course, we all know where I ended up.) Then I saw Abzan Ascendancy...

That was it.

I chose

I was playing Abzan.

After looking at the cards spoiled so far, i decided that banking on Outlast was too risky, too slow and too vulnerable to removal. I decided to take advantage of Athreos, God of Passage and Abzan Ascendancy + Bloodsoaked Champion + Spirit Bonds to make a neigh indestructible and very, very, resilient weenie strategy that can carry well into the late game with lots of counters and creatures.

Card Choices

Creatures

Alt Text

-Anafenza, the Foremost - I'm playing Anafenza because shes a Loxodon Smiter who smashes sultai into the ground and can buff up our creatures more and more as the game goes on.

-Athreos, God of Passage - Athreos is awesome in this deck, he keeps us looping creatures and making more spirits, allows us to play a very grindy, slow game against the appropriate decks.

- Fleecemane Lion - Fleecemane is here because he's extremely hard to kill, and you only have to pump him once to get him out've Anger of the Gods range.

-Bloodsoaked Champion - Now, this guy is awesome. He can recur himself for Abzan Ascendancy and Spirit Bonds and can attack fearlessly cause he triggers his own raid.

-Soldier of the Pantheon - What was that? Madru Burn? Oh, I'm sorry

-Eidolon of Blossoms - Amazing fit for this deck, gives more creatures and tons of card draw from all the enchantments we're running.

Utility

Alt Text

-Abzan Ascendancy - Why I'm playing Abzan. This card is pure awesome, late game will buff your weenies a ton, early game will make you a ton of spirits. And they stack.

-Spirit Bonds - The second part of our weenie churning engine, and can save important creatures.

-Hardened Scales - Pure awesome. Makes Abzan Ascendancy give all your creatures +2/+2, makes the Herald big really fast and gets extra value out of Anafenza and Fleecemane.

-Sorin, Solemn Visitor - Sorin does alot of work here. When its the mid-late game and your opponents dropping bombs, Sorin will allow you to race your opponent and beat face.

-Abzan Charm - Abzan Charm is really sweet here, it draws us cards at instant speed, it kills big things and can buff our guys as a combat trick.

-Return to the Ranks - Imagine this. It's turn 12 and your opponent has consistently been killing your guys with sacrifice shenanigans and wipes. Then you draw this.

-Elspeth, Sun's Champion - Makes weenies, impacts bordstate and kills things. Sorry Temur!

-Ajani, Mentor of Heroes - ALL THE +1/+1 COUNTERS. He also digs for more cards, which this deck really needs.

Removal

Alt Text

-Abzan Charm - See above

-Utter End - Kills everything.

-Banishing Light - Our catch all get all card.

Sideboard

-Bile Blight - Sideboard vs Madru and rabble red, can kill their tokens and small creatures efficiently

-Hero's Downfall - for those pesky superfriend decks

-Utter End - More in side for decks like ours that use enchantments as haymakers

- Despise - Can smash alot of Temur decks, and gets rid of that pesky Sagur Mauler

-Thoughtseize - Anger of the Gods hoses us. Thoughtseize hoses Anger of the Gods.(I will trade for these, post on my wall if you are interested in trading.)

-Drown in Sorrow - Thats a nice Rabble master army you have there. Shame if... Something were to happen to it....

-HELP PLEASE
