Killin' it with Killian

Commander / EDH* WB (Orzhov)

Endrobot

Maybeboard

Instant (1)

Sorcery (1)

Killian is a pretty unique commander, but the two routes ive seen taken are either going really heavily into auras and voltron strats with Killian, or going really heavy into control. I want to land somewhere in the middle, by controlling the board with targeted removal and boardwipes, we are going to out-value the opponents by keeping a consistent board presence. I also think that with as much removal as we are going to be running, playing the politics game would be to our advantage. Maybe threaten the player with the strongest board to send their bodies somewhere else, or youll blow uo their creatures ect. And although I don´t to lean into auras too heavily, I think that if played right, and if we keep him protected, voltron with Killian as a wincon isn't a bad idea, and he can keep our life total nice and high. So, to summurise, we arent going to suit up Killian early, because it will make him a target for removal, which will take us down quite a bit by getting rid of our auras and putting our curve too high, because this deck is running quite a few innifeciant removal spells that are only made viable by having Killian as our general. So, instead we just keep him small for the time being, and start trying to play a few value engines, control the board, and maybe buff him up just the slightest bit for more lifelink damage. Once we get into the late game, and other players have started to run out of some gas, you try to pump up Killian and go for the kill. To help keep you alive this long, ill also be running a few politics cards that will make your opponents less likely to hurt you. All in all Killian is a unique commander that is a blast to play. A lot of people will underestimate you for playing him, which is perfect. Playing the politics game, earning favors for taking out threats, and the like will all help you survive till victory, where you will swing big and kill your opponents.
