I started off last night not knowing whether or not to play this deck. The only decks I brought with me were this and my assault formation walls deck. I rolled a die to decide which one I would play and wound up playing this.
This was the first time I was going to get a chance to play this in paper outside of playtesting and gold fishing, so I was notably cautious of each one of my moves.
Game one, I played against infect, and had a really seriously fast game. He pooped out his entire hand on turn 1. I played a turn 1 kiln fiend and passed. He swung in for 7 infect on a pumped up nexus, and passed. I played a land, exiled spirit guide, and then played 3 pump spells and crashed in for 19. He misplayed and didnt have enough mana to re equip plating, and swing lethal, so I wrecked him. Game 2 was very similar.
Round 2, I played against colorless eldrazi, and ran through him 2 games straight and didnt take a single hut of damage in either game.
Round 3 was infect. He pumped his shit up huge on turn 2, and I chumped with a swiftspear. I threw 3 bolts at hus face and won. He got game 2, but i came back super fast in game 3. The win was almost the exact same as the affinity game 1 win, however i threw a bolt at his face instead of the third pump spell.
Round 4, i played against a tricked out zombie infestation deck that was actually doing very good on the night, however he could not match my speed, so he fell very badly to me in 2 games.
All in all it was an extremely fun experience, and I git the chance to add another deck to the meta. Extremely good night.
