Cool guys don't look at explosion. Kresh the Bloodbraided is no exception.

Kresh doesn't look at explosions!

Introduction

Kresh the Bloodbraided is by far one of my favorite decks in my possession. It's not the colors that excite me - just the simple fact that this deck can rub salt in the wounds of your enemies.

What's better than swinging at your opponent for lethal with a single creature? Casting Soul's Fire on that same creature and targeting the player who decided to be political and attempted to fog to save the other guy from death.

Welcome to King Kresh.

Kresh the Bloodbraided acquires the power and toughness of any other creature that has died on the battlefield - no matter if it is your creatures, or your opponents. This allows us to abuse his ability to do hilarious shenanigans.

As most Jund decks are token based, Kresh the Bloodbraided provides us a chance to build something that is completely unique, and is rarely seen in the EDH community.

This deck has been built to play as a typical black deck - suicide bomb your enemies until they die, or you die.

The main objective is to use the multiple toolbox type cards available in the deck to get a large X/Y creature into play. This creature is then used as a sacrificial offering to the overlord Kresh so we can get double uses out of the poor lost creatures power and toughness. Using cards like Fling and Soul's Fire allows us to repay the favor to our opponents who believe it is their duty to destroy our King. Unfortunately for them, their spells will never resolve as they will be... well... dead.

The deck also utilizes multiple graveyard recovery options to help us get twice as many uses out of every single creature we play.

Kresh doesn't look at explosions!

In all honesty, I built the deck around the three following cards: Fling , Soul's Fire, and Flesh / Blood . There is something that is incredibly fulfilling by flinging a 50/50 Kresh the Bloodbraided or 80/80 Lord of Extinction at the combo player who swings at you for infinite damage. The look of their crushed dreams alone makes it all the more worthwhile to play.

As backup options, cards such as Tainted Strike have also been added to help increase the chance of a one-shot kill. Enjoy the sweetness of your Mage Slayer dealing 10 infect damage in one single hit to the poor Avacyn player who thought he was safe.

Mad at the Azami player who combo won the previous game? Have fun using Sorin Markov's -3 ability to easily put him in "fly swatting" range.

As a backup, I have a single Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion infinite combo that plays nicely with Tooth and Nail. The deck is not intended to be a infinite combo deck, but there is absolutely no reason why I wouldn't throw in a Triskelion as a backup win condition, as I was always running this deck with a Mikaeus.

Overall, the deck is simply your basic reanimator deck that uses trickery to c*ck slap your opponents across the face when they least expect it. There are a few other cute tricks that can be found in the deck, but these should be easily seen to your average EDH player.

As any typical black deck, the major weaknesses of this deck are graveyard hate, and major blue control. (Bounce, Heavy Counter, Stasis Effects, etc)

When playing these types of decks, your best option is to wait until the player is tapped out and attempt to go for the one-shot kill. These types of players are the primary reason I run the Tooth and Nail infinite combo with Triskellion and Mikaeus.

Your other options include playing the political game by convincing the table to attack the player in question, though this becomes unlikely once the table realizes how the deck operates.

Overall this is a very fun to play, and takes a slightly different twist over the typical token based Kresh decks I have seen. As always, I invite suggestions and criticisms - particularly as I have not updated the deck in quite a while.

Fling on, gentlemen! (and gentleladies)

Peace out!

How does this deck wor....OHSHI

Updates Add

-1 Vorinclex -1 Triskelion

Vorinclex isn't really needed, and I do not really need the backup infinite combo anymore with the addition of Chandra's Ignition (Instant OTK for whole table) and Sidisi, Undead Vizier which is a repeatable sac outlet and tutor.
