So Kiora, the Crashing Wave was spoiled only hours ago and I got to thinking, bloated from Christmas turkey and nibbling on my stocking full of chocolate coins as I am...she would fit rather nicely into a Maze's End deck. I mean...holy moly she actually would! So lets give this a go, Maze's End is our goal win condition, Kiora, the Crashing Wave along with fogs, removal and a lone Elixir for longevity fill out the rest of the suite, with a few Prophets and Gatecreeper Vines in the mix to really max our utility.

Here's a link to her announcment http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/279

Whilst that first ability allows us to blank our opponent's threats as we tick up, her -1 allows us to really rip through our deck and assemble the almighty 10 gate requirement for our deck.

Need something dead? If it's a lone creature or a planes walker, why not try Dreadbore? Are there a few creatures biting at your face? Supreme Verdict has your back. Maybe it's a troublesome God ruining your day? Why not detain that naughty god in a Detention Sphere ?

And that's just the removal, if we need to ramp, we have our trusty Gatecreeper Vine to help out, followed by the very useful Urban Evolution and the -1 on Kiora too.

Or maybe we just need to keep alive? Well aside from Kiora being able to shut down any troublesome singular threats, we have Fog to help us out, and an Elixir of Immortality too, just to make our game go the distance.

As with any control deck, we have our counterspells Syncopate , our card draw Sphinx's Revelation and our mono blue planeswalker, with 2 Jace's helping us do a whole bunch of goody blue things.

I'd love to hear what you think! I doubt Kiora will make too much of a splash (baddum-tish) in standard but we might just have to wait an see what else Born of the Gods has in store for us! If not, she'll definitely find a home in many a casual player's heart and in countless EDH decks. She's already a favourite around my house for her art alone!

+2 Simic Charm

Upon noticing that this gives all permanents hexproof, I decided it needed to be main deck, to protect Kiora, the Crashing Wavefoil :)
