Having pulled not just one Kiora, the Crashing Wave out of the BNG booster boxes I got, but two - the second being foil - I just had to build a deck around her.

This list is a post JOU update from deck:kioras-kuties which attempts to improve the flaws of the original to bring in a little extra firepower before the big guns come out.

This list will need to be altered again post-rotation of RTR and M14

Out:

• 2x Kiora's Follower - Wasn't doing much good in this deck
• 3x Vortex Elemental - This got sideboarded during original playtesting as it tended to get in the way, plus using it as removal usually messed up my draw from that point

In:

• 1x Nylea, God of the Hunt - Adds trample to my guys and, when a creature, quite useful 4CMC 6/6
• 1x Triton Shorestalker - for some early unblockable annoyance
• 3x Pin to the Earth (SB) - Handy against a deck with lots of monstrous/deathtouch threats
• 2x Stormtide Leviathan (SB) - I have to try this out, I think he will be very good in this deck
• 2x AEtherspouts (SB) - Could be less self destructive than Whelming Wave, BUT: Costs more and moves away from Kiora flavour

Rationale from the original deck:* What this deck really wants to do is belt the opponent with one or two large sea creatures, hopefully along with Kiora going ultimate and spamming generic 9/9 Krakens and try to disrupt the opponent as much as possible along the way.

• Since Krakens cost a lot of mana, I took the approach that:
• Sylvan Caryatid gives ramp and a pillow to hide behind
• Elvish Mystic gives expendable ramp
• Courser of Kruphix as a tough midranger who can assist getting land on the board
• Lots of counterspells to protect me whilst I wait for the inordinate amount of mana
• Prophet of Kruphix allows me to get full offensive and defensive use out of the big dudes when I finally get them
