Turn 2 Dark Confidant is great, but never be afraid to make bad attacks or just kill off your Dark Confidant when your life gets to low. Pain Seer is a nice substitute,
Turn 3 Kitchen Finks is good because the persist and you gain 2 life, usually twice off of it.
Scavenging Ooze is good for a turn 3 or 4 when you can save a green mana or two to exile a creature and raise it up so it eats an attacker or lives through a burn spell. Also the Scavenging Ooze gains you 1 life when it grows from exiling a creature from a graveyard and that life gain can save you.
Pack Rat and Lotleth Troll I could not get them to work that well
Tarmogoyf is Tarmogoyf. play his on turn 2 or 3 when he is a 3/4 or higher.
Last ditch win's are Thrun, the Last Troll and Phyrexian Obliterator. Thrun can not be countered by those mean blue spells and he has hexproof so spot removal does not work and regenerate for living through combat and board wipes.Phyrexian Obliterator is a 5/5 for 4 mana that no one wants to burn or damage.
removal spells- Abrupt Decay can not be stopped but it only hits cmc 3 or less. Maelstrom Pulse is a great destroy and wipes the boards of those same names. Go for the Throat a nice 2 mana destroy
black hand control- Thoughtseize just play this on turn 1 with a fetch land for a shock land so you put yourself at 15 life. Surgical Extraction can get rid of all those copies of that card that you got rid of once and don't want to see again. Despise
Once I Thoughseized my opponent and got rid of his Courser of Kruphix leaving him lands, another Courser of Kruphix and a Stormbreath Dragon for his opening hand; then on turn 2 I used Surgical Extraction to get rid of the other Courser of Kruphix from his hand and the two in his deck, one of which was second from the top so he did not have a play until turn 5.
Liliana of the Veil is a nice turn 3 to get rid of their only blocker, or save her. I do not use the discard effect often and I have only ultimate'd her once. She is a planeswalker that I do not activate each turn and that I am not to protective of because she usually does her thing the first turn she is out.
equipments- Batterskull I do not like drawing Batterskull off of Dark Confidant to put me at 6 life but it has won me the game. Sword of Fire and Ice is a nice protection from blue and red and lets me draw a card and shock something. Sword of Light and Shadow is fantastic, protection from white and black is nice because those are some of the best spot removal spells in modern and gaining 3 life is very nice as it getting a dead creature back
lands- fetch lands, shock lands, m10-innistrad duel lands, lorwyn mana fixing, treetop village man-land, all-swamp-land and basic lands.
I wanted to include red in this deck, but I could not justify it.It is fun to side in another color during game 2 or 3 to throw off your opponent in casual play. take out 2Surgical Extraction, Batterskull, 3Abrupt Decay, Maelstrom Pulse, 2Treetop Village and put in 1Chandra, Pyromaster, 2Stormbreath Dragon, 3Lightning Bolt, 2Blood Crypt and Stomping Ground
