Interesting idea. Scry is always a good mechanic, but along side all of my creatures she really gets a lot of good use. They all have the prerequisite of dealing combat damage to work so making them unblockable is just perfect. I will see what I can do to work her in.

What about Rise of the Dark Realms ? It's mana cost is high, but it can be a good card to play when you have used a couple of mill-spells like the Psychic Strike and also Jace, Memory Adept 's mill-ability..

I would love to run that card. I just don't think that I would ever get to that much mana with out ramp which I don't really want to use. Great suggestion for the theme though. =)

So here's the final version of what my deck looks like. Your Soul is mine Liu Kang

I couldn't make an exact carbon copy, because I couldn't find a lot of the cards, but this bad boy went 3-1 tonight, and would've taken me 4-0 if I had my supreme verdicts. It was a LOT of fun to play as well. Definitely recommend putting it together if you can.

(btw any advice on the sidebaord and +1's would be appreciated)

hey i like this build! i have a very similar gimmick deck that i recently made up: Your Mind Is Not Your Own. yours seems to focus a lot more on control whereas mine is a little more creature based.

Just remember, if you steal aetherling or ghost dad with ashiok you can never exile them (they will come back to their owner, not you).

Trying so hard to make this work too. Do you find the counterspells are enough to protect your creatures from removal? It would free up so much utility if I went to one-ofs, but this is a concern for me.

I'm trying to take full advantage of Lazav, Dimir Mastermind since he persists so well and there are so many ways to get things into the graveyard. I may be trying too much. I'd appreciate any feedback you have the time / inclination to offer: Your Deck

Thanks, and +1 from me!

I just playtested this against my American Control deck, and you got scraped because you have so many dead cards against decks like mine, and a sideboard that doesn't really do anything to help against it (except AEtherling , which I'm also rocking).

Psychic Intrusion was really good against my deck, you stole a Sphinx from me and should have snowballed after that, but you literally had no answer for Elspeth once she hit the board. I would take out Doom Blade s and Far / Away s and mainboard your Hero's Downfall s and put in Detention Sphere s. This would give you four slots in your sideboard for more answers AND make it competitive against other control decks. Just my two cents, pretty cool theme all-in-all. I think your deck would have stomped mine if you made some minor adjustments.
