2-1 vs G/W Aggro:
Overall, this match was extremely easy. I made way to many misplays to have won the match. However, I simply controlled the board till I stalled him and got enough beaters on the ground to win. Game 2, was a loss but, I conceded the game because we were approaching time limit and we had both stalled. I had good board position but I still saw the game dragging on and I wanted to win straight up instead of running out of time. Game 3, easy. I didn't make to many misplays, and controlled the game till the very end.
2-0 vs Mono White Humans:
This was against a very inexperienced player and I feel no need to break this down.
1-2 vs U/G/R Wolf Run
This match up, even though it was a loss, was the most fun of the three. Each game coming down to just a few life points on either side. Game 1, I had to basically play with my hand on the board (surgicals and probes), but I managed to counter at the right times and keep enough board presence to win out a back and forth game. Chandra's Phoenix was the MVP of that game, along with a Snapcaster Mage to Ponder(lolz). Game 2, I stalled around turn 7-8. I drew into 5 straight lands and that cost me the game, for the most part. My opponent was at 4 life for around 4 turns which made the loss very disappointing. Game 3, was very similar however, no mana problems, but Thrun made it on the field and it was a foot race in which I lost. Had I survived 1 more turn, I would have won. He dropped a Kessig Wolf Run on his final turn. He was at 11 life, I was at 8 life with Snapcaster Mage and Devil's Play in hand and a Brimstone Volley in the GY. He swung for 9 trampling, and all I had was snapcaster to block 1 and took the 8 for the loss.
Overview:
Overall, I am very satisfied with this decks first appearance. I see now I need to bring in an Inferno Titan MB, simply because most of my games last a very long time and I have no threats late game. I made a good call bringing Devil's Play into my SB last minute. It helped me win a couple games that I otherwise I would have lost. I've made some changes to the deck that I will be trying out at another tournament tomorrow night. Updates for it will be up as soon I can.
