10 health in EDH!!?? Allow me to introduce the infect mechanic. Creatures with infect don't do damage normally. Instead they assign damage in the form of -1/-1 counters to creatures. And to players? you might ask. They assign infect counters, which do nothing unless you have 10 or more on you in which case you lose the game. Very few cards actually interact with infect and even fewer prevent or remove them which makes it great if the other players don't know what your deck does because they won't be running the counter cards. Infect goes great with Proliferate, which allows you to add a counter on to any number of permanents OR players. This makes Atraxa, Praetors' Voice the perfect choice as commander, not only because of the proliferate but also the fact that she is 4 colors. This gives access to all the best infect and proliferate spells, except for red, which has the worst anyway.

So what happens if your opponent is running a counter card? Well there are really only 3 ways to deal with poison counters. The least common, and one you probably will never see chosen because of your deck is Karn Liberated. His 3rd ability restarts the game, which removes all poison counters. If someone plays Karn use to use his ultimate to remove poison counters you've already won. The second counter card, and one designed specifically to remove poison counters is Leeches. It looks like a problem but you have ways to deal with it. For example if your opponent is at 9 poison counters and they use leeches why not play Steady Progress and win before it resolves. Or you could counter it with Corrupted Resolve. OR get the best of both worlds and play Fuel for the Cause stopping the leeches and winning the game at the same time. The final counter card, and the most problematic is Melira, Sylvok Outcast. With out poison counters you have less options but the game definitely isn't over. While they won't be able to get poison counters they will still keep the ones they have, meaning that if you can get rid of her you can get back to spreading the glory of Phyrexia.

So what else can this deck do? Well because of proliferate all lands that have a counter on them essentially have infinite counters as long as they have one when Atraxa comes out. This deck can also has an infinite turn combo with Magistrate's Scepter if you have a way to put 3 or more counters on it per turn. this may sound dauntung but is actually extremely easy with cards like Vorel of the Hull Clade and Gilder Bairn. This deck also has 2 alternate ways of winning, both of which could be difficult to fulfill if not for proliferating. One is Darksteel Reactor which would normally take 20 turns to win with but with deck can easily take under 10. The other card is Azor's Elocutors. This card will usually win you the game in 1 or 2 turns is you have something with proliferate on the board. This deck has a lot of other thing to talk about but I'll let you figure them out!
